The Dodge Charger has a standard driver’s side knee airbag mounted low on the dashboard. The knee airbag helps prevent the driver from sliding under the seatbelts or the main frontal airbag; this keeps the driver better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. A knee airbag also helps keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Nexo doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The Charger has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The Nexo doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

Both the Charger and the Nexo have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The Dodge Charger weighs 1722 to 1848 pounds more than the Hyundai Nexo. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

There are almost 3 times as many Dodge dealers as there are Hyundai dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Charger’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2023 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Dodge vehicles are better in initial quality than Hyundai vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Dodge first in initial quality, above the industry average. With 48 more problems per 100 vehicles, Hyundai is ranked 17th.

The Charger Daytona R/T Coupe’s standard electric motors produces 335 more horsepower (496 vs. 161) and 113 lbs.-ft. more torque (404 vs. 291) than the Nexo’s electric motor. The Charger Daytona Scat Pack Coupe’s standard electric motors produces 509 more horsepower (670 vs. 161) and 336 lbs.-ft. more torque (627 vs. 291) than the Nexo’s electric motor.

The Charger Scat Pack’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Nexo doesn’t offer launch control.

For better stopping power the Charger’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Nexo:

The Charger’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs on the Nexo are solid, not vented.

For better traction, the Charger has larger standard tires than the Nexo (245/55R18 vs. 225/60R17). The Charger Daytona Scat Pack Coupe’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Nexo (F:305/35R20 & R:325/35R20 vs. 245/45R19).

The Charger’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 55 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Nexo’s standard 60 series tires. The Charger Daytona Scat Pack Coupe’s tires have a lower 35 series profile than the Nexo Limited’s 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Charger has standard 18-inch wheels. Smaller 17-inch wheels are standard on the Nexo. The Charger’s optional 20-inch wheels are larger than the 19-inch wheels on the Nexo Limited.

The Charger offers an optional driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads. The Nexo’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Charger’s wheelbase is 11.2 inches longer than on the Nexo (121 inches vs. 109.8 inches).

For better handling and stability, the average track (width between the wheels) on the Charger is 4.4 inches wider in the front and 4.3 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the Nexo.

The Charger has 1.1 inches more front legroom, 2.3 inches more front hip room, 2.3 inches more front shoulder room, 2.6 inches more rear hip room and 2.1 inches more rear shoulder room than the Nexo.

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the Charger. The Nexo doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

When two different drivers share the Charger, the optional memory system makes it convenient for both. Each setting activates different, customized memories for the driver’s seat position, steering wheel position, outside mirror angle and radio stations. The Nexo doesn’t offer a memory system.

The Charger offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Nexo doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Charger’s power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The Nexo’s power mirror switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

The Charger’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Nexo’s standard manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

When the Charger with available tilt-down mirrors is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirrors into their original positions. The Nexo’s mirrors don’t automatically adjust for backing.

Both the Charger and the Nexo offer available heated front seats. The Charger also offers optional heated rear seats to keep those passengers extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated rear seats aren’t available in the Nexo.

The Charger has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel is only available on the Nexo Limited.
