The Bentayga’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Cayenne doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

Both the Bentayga and Cayenne have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Bentayga has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The Cayenne’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

The Bentayga has standard Active Head Restraints, which use a specially designed headrest to protect the driver and front passenger from whiplash. During a rear-end collision, the Active Head Restraints system moves the headrests forward to prevent neck and spine injuries. The Cayenne doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

Earlier warning of stopped traffic, traffic signals, dangerous road conditions, weather, or accidents, can keep driver's safer and prevent crashes. The Bentayga has Connected Car Services, a system that seamlessly communicates important warnings to the driver about impending danger, if they're available. The Cayenne doesn’t offer a system that can receive automated systems

Both the Bentayga and the Cayenne have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, available night vision systems and lane departure warning systems.

On the EPA test cycle the Bentayga running its gasoline engine gets better mileage than the Cayenne running its gasoline engine:

Cayenne

AWD

3.0 turbo V6

17 city/23 hwy

4.0 turbo V8

15 city/21 hwy

The Bentayga Hybrid can travel with zero emissions for 18 miles. The Cayenne can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Bentayga V8’s fuel efficiency. The Cayenne doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

The Bentayga Hybrid’s standard fuel tank has 1.3 gallons more fuel capacity than the Cayenne S E-Hybrid/Turbo E-Hybrid’s standard fuel tank (19.8 vs. 18.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

XPYNN-M34HG 2a06:98c0:3600::103 2024/12/21

For better stopping power the Bentayga’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Cayenne:

Bentayga

Cayenne

Front Rotors

15.7 inches

14.2 inches

Rear Rotors

15 inches

13 inches

In an emergency stopping situation, many drivers don’t press the brakes with enough force to stop the vehicle in the shortest distance. The Bentayga has standard Hydraulic Brake Assist to detect emergency braking situations (by how hard and how quickly the brake pedal is pressed) and then automatically apply maximum braking immediately in order to help prevent a collision. The Cayenne doesn’t offer a brake assist feature.

For better traction, the Bentayga has larger tires than the Cayenne (285/45R21 vs. 255/55R20).

The Bentayga’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Cayenne’s standard 55 series front tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Bentayga has standard 21-inch wheels. Smaller 20-inch wheels are standard on the Cayenne.

The Bentayga SPEED handles at .93 G’s, while the Cayenne S pulls only .90 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Bentayga SPEED executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1 seconds quicker than the Cayenne S (24.6 seconds @ .79 average G’s vs. 25.6 seconds @ .75 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the Bentayga EWB’s turning circle is 1 foot tighter than the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid’s (38.7 feet vs. 39.7 feet).

For greater off-road capability the Bentayga has a 1.6 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Cayenne E-Hybrid (9.7 vs. 8.1 inches), allowing the Bentayga to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Bentayga’s minimum ground clearance is .2 inch higher than on the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid (9.7 vs. 9.5 inches).

The Bentayga has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Cayenne doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The Bentayga EWB’s optional power side swing out doors make it much easier to load and unload kids and cargo. One touch opens the door, before you even get to the sport utility. The Cayenne doesn’t offer a power rear door.
