For enhanced safety, the front and rear seat shoulder belts of the Porsche Macan Electric have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers. The Cadillac Lyriq doesn’t offer pretensioners for its rear seat belts.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Macan Electric. But it costs extra on the Lyriq.

Both the Macan Electric and the Lyriq have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

The Macan Electric’s corrosion warranty is 6 years longer than the Lyriq’s (12 vs. 6 years).

Power ranks Porsche above average in initial quality. With 3 more problems per 100 vehicles, Cadillac is rated lower.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2022 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Porsche vehicles are more reliable than Cadillac vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Porsche above average in long-term dependability. With 30 more problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, Cadillac is rated lower.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Porsche vehicles are more reliable than Cadillac vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Porsche 8 places higher in reliability than Cadillac.

The Macan 4 Electric’s standard electric motors produces 62 more horsepower (402 vs. 340) and 154 lbs.-ft. more torque (479 vs. 325) than the Lyriq’s standard electric motor. The Macan 4 Electric’s electric motors produces 29 lbs.-ft. more torque (479 vs. 450) than the Lyriq’s optional electric motors. The Macan Electric Turbo’s standard electric motors produces 130 more horsepower (630 vs. 500) and 383 lbs.-ft. more torque (833 vs. 450) than the Lyriq’s optional electric motors.

For better traction and acceleration, the Macan Electric has larger standard rear tires than the Lyriq (285/45R20 vs. 265/50R20). The Macan Electric’s optional rear tires are larger than the largest rear tires available on the Lyriq (295/40R21 vs. 275/40R22).

The Macan Electric’s standard 285/45R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Lyriq’s standard 50 series tires. The Macan Electric’s optional 295/35R22 rear tires have a lower 35 series profile than the Lyriq Luxury/Sport’s optional 40 series tires.

The front and rear suspension of the Macan Electric uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Lyriq, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The Macan Electric has a standard driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The Lyriq’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The Macan Electric has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Macan Electric’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For greater off-road capability the Macan Electric has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Lyriq (7.2 vs. 7 inches), allowing the Macan Electric to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Porsche Macan Electric may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 300 to 400 pounds less than the Cadillac Lyriq.

The Macan Electric is 8.3 inches shorter than the Lyriq, making the Macan Electric easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the Macan Electric. The Lyriq doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The Macan Electric’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Lyriq’s (4409 vs. 0 pounds).

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Lyriq, the Macan Electric offers an optional driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Macan Electric offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed, navigation instruction and driver assistance information readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Macan Electric’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Lyriq’s standard intermittent wipers change speed with vehicle speed, but can’t turn on and off or change speed based on changing rainfall.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Macan Electric to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Lyriq doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Macan Electric offers an optional rear wiper. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the Macan Electric to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The Lyriq doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

The Macan Electric has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel is only available on the Lyriq Luxury/Sport.
