The Macan Electric Turbo’s standard electric motors produces 20 more horsepower (630 vs. 610) and 84 lbs.-ft. more torque (833 vs. 749) than the iX M60’s standard electric motors.

For better traction and acceleration, the Macan Electric has larger standard rear tires than the iX (285/45R20 vs. 235/60R20). The Macan Electric’s optional rear tires are larger than the largest rear tires available on the iX (295/40R21 vs. 275/40R22).

The Macan Electric’s standard 235/55R20 front and 285/45R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 55 series front and 45 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the iX’s standard 60 series tires. The Macan Electric’s optional 295/35R22 rear tires have a lower 35 series profile than the iX’s optional 40 series tires.

The front and rear suspension of the Macan Electric uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the iX, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

For better maneuverability, the Macan Electric’s turning circle is .7 feet tighter than the iX M60’s (39.7 feet vs. 40.4 feet). The Macan Electric’s turning circle is 3.1 feet tighter than the iX xDrive50’s (39.7 feet vs. 42.8 feet).

The Porsche Macan Electric may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 400 pounds less than the BMW iX.

The Macan Electric is 6.6 inches shorter than the iX, making the Macan Electric easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The design of the Porsche Macan Electric amounts to more than styling. The Macan Electric has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .25 Cd. That is lower than the iX (.25 to .26) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the Macan Electric get better fuel mileage.

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the Macan Electric. The iX doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

Standard Trailer Stability Management on the Macan Electric uses the Porsche Stability Management sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The iX doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Porsche service is better than BMW. J.D. Power ranks Porsche third in service department satisfaction. With a 13% lower rating, BMW is ranked 7th.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the iX, the Macan Electric offers an optional driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Macan Electric to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The iX doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the Macan Electric to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The iX doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

The Macan Electric offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet in the cargo area, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The iX doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
