To help each driver find a more comfortable driving position, the Sprinter Cargo Van has a telescoping steering wheel. Much better than just a tilt steering wheel or adjustable seat, this allows a short driver to sit further from the steering wheel while maintaining contact with the pedals. The Express Cargo doesn’t offer a telescoping steering wheel.
When three different drivers share the Sprinter Cargo Van, the optional memory seats make it convenient for all three. Each setting activates different, customized memories for the driver and front passenger’s seat positions. The Express Cargo doesn’t offer memory seats.
The Sprinter Cargo Van’s front power windows open or close fully with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside the car. The Express Cargo’s power window switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully. Only its driver’s window opens automatically.
If the windows are left open on the Sprinter Cargo Van the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the Express Cargo can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.
Keyless-Start standard on the Sprinter Cargo Van allows you to start the engine without removing the key from the pocket or purse. The Chevrolet Express Cargo doesn’t offer an advanced key system.
The Sprinter Cargo Van’s available sliding doors can be opened with less than three inches side clearance. The Express Cargo’s standard rear double doors are clumsy and make loading in tight spots difficult.
In addition to the standard right side sliding door, the Mercedes Sprinter Cargo Van offers an optional driver’s side rear sliding door. This door simplifies loading and unloading passengers and it allows parents to easily secure two children into child seats. The Express Cargo doesn’t offer a driver’s side rear door.
The Sprinter Cargo Van’s optional power passenger’s side sliding door makes it much easier to load and unload kids and cargo. One touch opens the door, before you even get to the van. The Express Cargo doesn’t offer a power rear door.
The Sprinter Cargo Van’s optional wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically according to the amount of rainfall on the windshield. The Express Cargo’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.
To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Sprinter Cargo Van offers an optional rear wiper. The Express Cargo doesn’t offer a rear wiper.
The Sprinter Cargo Van’s LED headlights produce a whiter, brighter light (up to 3x) using five times less power than the Express Cargo’s halogen headlights. LED lights also light instantly and last over twenty times longer than halogen.
While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors available for the Sprinter Cargo Van detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The Express Cargo doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.
To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the Sprinter Cargo Van offers optional cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The Express Cargo doesn’t offer cornering lights.
The Sprinter Cargo Van offers optional heated front seats, which keep the driver and front passenger extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated seats aren’t available in the Express Cargo.
The Sprinter Cargo Van’s optional automatic temperature control maintains the temperature you set to maintain a consistent, comfortable environment. The Express Cargo doesn’t offer automatic air conditioning.
A built-in pollen filter removes pollen, exhaust fumes and other pollutants from the Sprinter Cargo Van’s passenger compartment. This helps prevent lung and/or sinus irritation which can trigger allergies or asthma. The Express Cargo’s air conditioner doesn’t offer a filtration system.
To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Sprinter Cargo Van offers an optional Active Distance Assist Distronic, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The Express Cargo doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.
Bluetooth wireless connectivity is standard on the Sprinter Cargo Van, connecting the driver and passenger’s cell phones to the vehicle systems. This allows them to use the vehicle’s stereo and hand controls to place calls safely and easily. Bluetooth costs extra on the Express Cargo.
To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Mercedes Sprinter Cargo Van offers an optional wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the glovebox. The Express Cargo doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.
