Both the Prologue and Ariya have Rear Cross Traffic Alert, but the Prologue has Rear Cross Traffic Braking (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Ariya’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the Prologue and the Ariya have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front wheel drive, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rear parking sensors, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Honda vehicles are more reliable than Nissan vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Honda 12 places higher in reliability than Nissan.

For better traction, the Prologue has larger standard tires than the Ariya (255/60R19 vs. 235/55R19). The Prologue Elite’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Ariya (275/45R21 vs. 255/45R20).

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Prologue Elite has standard 21-inch wheels. The Ariya’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires available on the Prologue can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The Ariya doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Prologue’s wheelbase is 12.5 inches longer than on the Ariya (121.8 inches vs. 109.3 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Prologue is 1.7 inches wider in the front and 1.9 inches wider in the rear than on the Ariya.

For greater off-road capability the Prologue has a 1.4 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Ariya Engage+/Evolve+/Empower+/Platinum+ (8.1 vs. 6.7 inches), allowing the Prologue to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Prologue’s minimum ground clearance is 1.2 inches higher than on the Ariya Engage (8.1 vs. 6.9 inches).

The Prologue has 10.4 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Ariya (111.7 vs. 101.3).

The Prologue has 1.6 inches more front hip room, 2.3 inches more front shoulder room, 2.4 inches more rear legroom, 1.9 inches more rear hip room and 1.7 inches more rear shoulder room than the Ariya.

The Prologue has a much larger cargo volume than the Ariya with its rear seat up (25.2 vs. 22.8 cubic feet).

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the Prologue. The Ariya doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The Prologue’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Ariya’s (1500 vs. 0 pounds).

The Prologue has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Ariya doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Honda Prologue has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) for the front seat. Only the Ariya Evolve+/Empower+/Platinum+ offers wireless charging.

The Prologue Elite has a 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Ariya doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
