In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Prologue are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Corsair doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the Prologue has standard Rear Cross Traffic Alert with Rear Cross Traffic Braking, systems which detect vehicles approaching from the sides and can automatically apply the brakes to prevent a collision. Rear Cross Traffic Braking costs extra on the Corsair.

Both the Prologue and the Corsair have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front wheel drive, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rear parking sensors, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

The Honda Prologue weighs 439 to 1588 pounds more than the Lincoln Corsair. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

Honda pays for scheduled maintenance on the Prologue for 2 years and 24,000 miles. Honda will pay for tire rotations, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Lincoln only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Corsair.

There are almost 2 times as many Honda dealers as there are Lincoln dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Prologue’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2023 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Honda vehicles are better in initial quality than Lincoln vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Honda above average in initial quality. With 18 more problems per 100 vehicles, Lincoln is rated below average.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Honda vehicles are more reliable than Lincoln vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Honda 18 places higher in reliability than Lincoln.

The Prologue’s optional electric motors produces 22 more horsepower (288 vs. 266) than the Corsair Grand Touring’s standard 2.5 DOHC 4-cylinder hybrid.

The Prologue can travel with zero emissions on a full charge for 273 to 296 miles. The Corsair Grand Touring has to start its internal combustion engine after only 27 miles.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Honda Prologue higher (10 out of 10) than the Lincoln Corsair (7 to 8). This means the Prologue produces up to 11.8 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Corsair every 15,000 miles.

For better traction, the Prologue has larger standard tires than the Corsair (255/60R19 vs. 225/60R18). The Prologue Elite’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Corsair (275/45R21 vs. 245/45R20).

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Prologue has standard 19-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the Corsair Premiere. The Prologue Elite’s 21-inch wheels are larger than the 20-inch wheels optional on the Corsair.

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires available on the Prologue can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The Corsair doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Prologue’s wheelbase is 15.1 inches longer than on the Corsair (121.8 inches vs. 106.7 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Prologue is 3.5 inches wider in the front and 2.9 inches wider in the rear than on the Corsair.

The Prologue has 9.2 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Corsair (111.7 vs. 102.5).

The Prologue has .1 inches more front headroom, 2 inches more front hip room, 2.3 inches more front shoulder room, .8 inches more rear legroom, 3.6 inches more rear hip room and 1.3 inches more rear shoulder room than the Corsair.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Honda Prologue has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) for the front seat. Wireless charging costs extra on the Corsair.

The Prologue Elite has a 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Corsair doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
