The Honda Prologue has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The EV6 doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

Both the Prologue and the EV6 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rear parking sensors, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

The Prologue’s 5 year corrosion warranty has no mileage limitations, but the corrosion warranty on the EV6 runs out after 100,000 miles.

Honda pays for scheduled maintenance on the Prologue for 2 years and 24,000 miles. Honda will pay for tire rotations, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Kia doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the EV6.

There are over 35 percent more Honda dealers than there are Kia dealers, which makes it easier should you ever need service under the Prologue’s warranty.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Honda vehicles are more reliable than Kia vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Honda 5 places higher in reliability than Kia.

For better traction, the Prologue has larger standard tires than the EV6 (255/60R19 vs. 235/55R19). The Prologue Elite’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the EV6 (275/45R21 vs. 255/45R20).

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires available on the Prologue can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The EV6 doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Prologue’s wheelbase is 7.6 inches longer than on the EV6 (121.8 inches vs. 114.2 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Prologue is 2 inches wider in the front and 1.8 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the EV6.

For greater off-road capability the Prologue has a 2 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the EV6 (8.1 vs. 6.1 inches), allowing the Prologue to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Prologue has 8.7 cubic feet more passenger volume than the EV6 (111.7 vs. 103).

The Prologue has .6 inches more front headroom, 2.7 inches more front hip room, 1.6 inches more front shoulder room, .1 inches more rear headroom, .4 inches more rear legroom, 1.2 inches more rear hip room and 2 inches more rear shoulder room than the EV6.

The Prologue has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the EV6 with its rear seat up (25.2 vs. 24.4 cubic feet). The Prologue has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the EV6 with its rear seat folded (57.7 vs. 50.2 cubic feet).

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the Prologue. The EV6 doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The Prologue’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the EV6’s (1500 vs. 0 pounds).

The Prologue’s front and rear power windows all open or close fully with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside the car. The EV6’s rear power window switches have to be held the entire time to open or close them fully.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Prologue has a standard rear wiper. The EV6 doesn’t offer a rear wiper.
