Safety

For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Maserati Quattroporte are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Rolls-Royce Spectre doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

Both the Quattroporte and the Spectre have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

Warranty

There are almost 3 times as many Maserati dealers as there are Rolls-Royce dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Quattroporte’s warranty.

Tires and Wheels

The Quattroporte’s 245/35R21 front and 285/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Spectre’s standard 45 series front and 40 series rear tires. The Quattroporte’s tires are lower profile than the Spectre’s optional 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

Suspension and Handling

The Quattroporte’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The Spectre doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

For better maneuverability, the Quattroporte’s turning circle is 3 feet tighter than the Spectre’s (38.7 feet vs. 41.7 feet).

Chassis

The Maserati Quattroporte may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 2150 pounds less than the Rolls-Royce Spectre.

The Quattroporte is 8.4 inches shorter than the Spectre, making the Quattroporte easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The front grille of the Quattroporte uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Spectre doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

Passenger Space

Because it has more passenger and cargo room, the EPA rates the Quattroporte a Large car, while the Spectre is rated a Compact.

The Quattroporte has standard seating for 5 passengers; the Spectre can only carry 4.

The Quattroporte has 18 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Spectre (114 vs. 96).
