Safety
Engine
The Quattroporte’s 3.0 turbo V6 produces 49 more horsepower (424 vs. 375) and 37 lbs.-ft. more torque (428 vs. 391) than the G90 3.5T’s standard 3.5 turbo V6. The Quattroporte’s 3.0 turbo V6 produces 15 more horsepower (424 vs. 409) and 23 lbs.-ft. more torque (428 vs. 405) than the G90 3.5T e-SC’s standard 3.5 turbo/supercharged V6 hybrid.
Fuel Economy and Range
On the EPA test cycle the Quattroporte Ultima gets better fuel mileage than the G90 3.5T e-SC 3.5 turbo/supercharged V6 Hybrid (17 city/25 hwy vs. 17 city/24 hwy).
The Quattroporte has 1.8 gallons more fuel capacity than the G90 (21.1 vs. 19.3 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.
The Quattroporte has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The G90 doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.
Tires and Wheels
For better traction and acceleration, the Quattroporte has larger rear tires than the G90 (285/30R21 vs. 275/40R20).
The Quattroporte’s 245/35R21 front and 285/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the G90 3.5T’s standard 45 series front and 40 series rear tires. The Quattroporte’s tires are lower profile than the G90 3.5T e-SC’s 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.
For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Quattroporte has standard 21-inch wheels. Smaller 20-inch wheels are standard on the G90 3.5T.
Suspension and Handling
The Quattroporte’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The G90 doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.
Chassis
The Maserati Quattroporte may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 600 to 900 pounds less than the Genesis G90.
The front grille of the Quattroporte uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The G90 doesn’t offer active grille shutters.
Passenger Space
The Quattroporte has 4.8 cubic feet more passenger volume than the G90 (114 vs. 109.2).
The Quattroporte has 8.3 inches more front hip room, 5.2 inches more front shoulder room and 2.8 inches more rear hip room than the G90.
Cargo Capacity
The Quattroporte has a much larger trunk than the G90 (18.7 vs. 12 cubic feet).
The Quattroporte’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The G90 doesn’t offer folding rear seats, only a ski pass-through.
Servicing Ease
A maintenance reminder system is standard on the Quattroporte to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals for oil changes, based on odometer mileage. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Genesis doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the G90.
Ergonomics
The Quattroporte’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The G90 does not have an oil pressure gauge.
Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Quattroporte to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The G90 doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.
In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Quattroporte has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The G90 doesn’t offer headlight washers.
To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the Quattroporte has standard cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The G90 doesn’t offer cornering lights. The Quattroporte also has standard adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle.
