For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Porsche Taycan are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Rolls-Royce Phantom doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

The Taycan offers all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The Phantom doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

Both the Taycan and the Phantom have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, available night vision systems, blind spot warning systems and around view monitors.

The Taycan’s corrosion warranty is 8 years longer than the Phantom’s (12 vs. 4 years).

There are over 5 times as many Porsche dealers as there are Rolls-Royce dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Taycan’s warranty.

The Taycan Turbo S’ standard electric motors produces 187 more horsepower (750 vs. 563) and 110 lbs.-ft. more torque (774 vs. 664) than the Phantom’s 6.8 turbo V12.

On the EPA test cycle the Taycan Sedan gets better mileage than the Phantom:

The Taycan can travel with zero emissions for 206 to 246 miles (dependent on model). The Phantom can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

Regenerative brakes improve the Taycan’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Phantom doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The Taycan, as a pure battery electric vehicle, has no need to “idle” its motors in traffic: they only burn power when moving. The Taycan’s climate control systems still work completely when the vehicle is stopped. The Phantom still runs its internal combustion engine whenever it’s stopped, burning excess fuel.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Porsche Taycan higher (10 out of 10) than the Rolls-Royce Phantom (3). This means the Taycan produces up to 36.3 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Phantom every 15,000 miles.

The Taycan’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Phantom doesn’t offer launch control.

For better stopping power the Taycan Turbo S’ front brake rotors are larger than those on the Phantom:

The Taycan offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Phantom doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

For better traction, the Taycan’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Phantom (F:265/35R21 & R:305/30R21 vs. F:255/45R22 & R:285/40R22).

The Taycan’s standard 275/45R19 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Phantom’s standard 50 series tires. The Taycan’s optional 265/35R21 front and 305/30R21 rear tires have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile than the Phantom’s optional 45 series front and 40 series rear tires.

For better maneuverability, the Taycan w/Rear Axle Steering’s turning circle is 8.5 feet tighter than the Phantom’s (36.7 feet vs. 45.2 feet).

The Porsche Taycan may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 550 to 1100 pounds less than the Rolls-Royce Phantom.

The Taycan is 2 feet, 7.8 inches shorter than the Phantom, making the Taycan easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Taycan is 10.5 inches shorter in height than the Phantom, making the Taycan much easier to wash and garage and drive (lower center of gravity).

The front grille of the Taycan uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Phantom doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The Taycan’s available rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The Phantom doesn’t offer folding rear seats.

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the Taycan’s trunk can be opened and closed just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The Phantom doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its trunk, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

The Taycan has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Phantom doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The Taycan’s optional Active Parking Support can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote ParkAssist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Phantom doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

The Porsche Taycan comes in sedan and station wagon bodystyles; the Rolls-Royce Phantom isn’t available as a station wagon.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the Taycan first among upper midsize premium cars in owner reported satisfaction. This includes how well the vehicle performs and satisfies its owner’s expectations. The Phantom isn’t in the top three.
