Both the McLaren GT and the DB11 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

The McLaren GT’s 4.0 turbo V8 produces 84 more horsepower (612 vs. 528) than the DB11 V8’s standard 4.0 turbo V8.

On the EPA test cycle the McLaren GT gets better fuel mileage than the DB11 V12 (15 city/22 hwy vs. 14 city/22 hwy).

The McLaren GT offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The DB11 doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

The DB11 doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The McLaren GT stops shorter than the DB11:

The McLaren GT’s 225/35R20 front and 295/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the DB11’s standard 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the McLaren GT has standard 21-inch rear wheels. Only 20-inch wheels are available on the DB11.

The McLaren GT may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 500 to 750 pounds less than the Aston Martin DB11.

The McLaren GT has a much larger trunk than the DB11 (20.2 vs. 9.9 cubic feet).

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the McLaren GT. The DB11 doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

To make loading and unloading groceries and cargo easier, especially for short adults, the McLaren GT offers an optional power liftgate, which opens and closes automatically by pressing a button. The DB11 doesn’t offer a power trunk.

The McLaren GT outsold the Aston Martin DB11 by 34% during 2022.
