The MC20 offers optional Automated Emergency Braking, which use forward mounted sensors to warn the driver of a possible collision ahead. If the driver doesn’t react and the system determines a collision is imminent, it automatically applies the brakes at full-force in order to reduce the force of the crash or avoid it altogether. The Artura doesn't offer collision warning or crash mitigation brakes.

The MC20’s optional blind spot warning system uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. The Artura doesn’t offer a system to reveal objects in the driver’s blind spots.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the MC20’s optional Rear Cross Path uses sensors in the rear to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side, helping the driver avoid collisions. The Artura doesn’t offer a rear cross-path warning system.

The MC20 has standard SOS and Assist Call, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Artura doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the MC20 and the Artura have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras and available around view monitors.

There are almost 5 times as many Maserati dealers as there are McLaren dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the MC20’s warranty.

The MC20’s 3.0 turbo V6 produces 7 lbs.-ft. more torque (538 vs. 531) than the Artura’s 3.0 turbo V6 hybrid.

On the EPA test cycle the MC20 gets better fuel mileage than the Artura running its gasoline engine (15 city/25 hwy vs. 17 city/21 hwy).

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the MC20’s wheelbase is 2.4 inches longer than on the Artura (106.3 inches vs. 103.9 inches).

The MC20’s standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The Artura doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.

A standard locking glovebox (which can’t be accessed with the valet key) keeps your small valuables safer in the MC20. The Artura doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The MC20 has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Artura doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The MC20’s standard easy entry system glides the driver’s seat back, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. An easy entry system costs extra on the Artura.

If the windows are left open on the MC20 the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the Artura can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The MC20’s power window, power lock and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The Artura’s cruise control switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

The MC20’s standard rear view mirror and optional side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Artura has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

To help keep the driver’s hands on the wheel, the MC20 has standard steering wheel controls for the radio. The Artura doesn’t offer steering wheel audio controls.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Maserati MC20 has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. The Artura doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.

The Maserati MC20 comes in coupe and convertible bodystyles; the McLaren Artura isn’t available as a convertible.
