For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Maserati Levante are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Land Rover Range Rover Sport doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

Both the Levante and the Range Rover Sport have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning, available crash mitigating brakes and lane departure warning systems.

The Levante has 2.2 gallons more fuel capacity than the Range Rover Sport P550e’s standard fuel tank (21.1 vs. 18.9 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The Levante stops much shorter than the Range Rover Sport:

The Levante Modena/S’ standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Range Rover Sport’s standard 50 series tires. The Levante’s optional 265/35R22 front and 295/30R22 rear tires have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile than the Range Rover Sport SV’s 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

The Levante’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The Range Rover Sport doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

The Levante Modena handles at .91 G’s, while the Range Rover Sport SE pulls only .81 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Levante Modena executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1.7 seconds quicker than the Range Rover Sport Autobiography (25.5 seconds @ .74 average G’s vs. 27.2 seconds @ .66 average G’s).

The front grille of the Levante uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Range Rover Sport doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The Levante has 3 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Range Rover Sport (108 vs. 105).

The Levante has .9 inches more front headroom and .4 inches more rear headroom than the Range Rover Sport.

The Levante has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Range Rover Sport with its rear seat folded (57.4 vs. 53 cubic feet).

The Levante’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The Range Rover Sport does not have an oil pressure gauge.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Levante has standard extendable sun visors. The Range Rover Sport doesn’t offer extendable visors.
