Compare the2024 Lamborghini HuracánVS 2024 Aston Martin DB12

2024 Lamborghini Huracán
2024 Aston Martin DB12

Safety

The Huracán offers all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The DB12 doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

Both the Huracán and the DB12 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras and available rear parking sensors.

Warranty

Lamborghini pays for scheduled maintenance on the Huracán for 5 years and 75000 miles. Lamborghini will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance (up to 5 visits). Aston Martin doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the DB12.

Fuel Economy and Range

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Huracán’s fuel efficiency. The DB12 doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

The Huracán has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The DB12 doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

Transmission and Drivetrain

The Huracán offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The DB12 doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

All wheel drive, available in the Huracán, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Aston Martin DB12 is not available with all wheel drive.

Tires and Wheels

The Huracán Technica/STO’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the DB12’s 35 series front tires.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires available on the Huracán can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The DB12 doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

Suspension and Handling

For better maneuverability, the Huracán’s turning circle is 3 feet tighter than the DB12’s (37.7 feet vs. 40.7 feet).

Chassis

The Lamborghini Huracán may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 300 to 750 pounds less than the Aston Martin DB12.

The Huracán Technica Coupe is 8.1 inches shorter than the DB12, making the Huracán easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Cargo Capacity

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the Huracán. The DB12 doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

Servicing Ease

The Huracán offers an optional under hood light to help in making nighttime maintenance checks, adding fluids, etc. The DB12 doesn’t offer an under hood light.

Ergonomics

The Huracán’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The DB12 does not have an oil pressure gauge.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Huracán has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The DB12 doesn’t offer headlight washers.
