The 500e has standard whiplash protection, which use a specially designed headrest to protect the driver and front passenger from whiplash. During a rear-end collision, the whiplash protection system moves the headrests forward to prevent neck and spine injuries. The VF 8 doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

Both the 500e and the VF 8 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras and driver alert monitors.

Warranty

The 500e’s corrosion warranty is unlimited miles longer than the VF 8’s (unlimited vs. 125000 miles).

There are almost 90 times as many Fiat dealers as there are VinFast dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the 500e’s warranty.

Tires and Wheels

The 500e’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the VF 8 Eco’s standard 55 series tires.

Chassis

The Fiat 500e may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 2850 to 3000 pounds less than the VinFast VF 8.

The 500e is 3 feet, 8 inches shorter than the VF 8, making the 500e easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The 500e is 10.1 inches narrower than the VF 8, making the 500e easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.

For excellent aerodynamics, the 500e has standard flush composite headlights. The VF 8 has recessed headlights that spoil its aerodynamic shape and create extra drag.
