Both the Purosangue and the X6 M have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The Purosangue comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The X6 M’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the Purosangue for 4 years and unlimited miles longer than BMW pays for maintenance for the X6 M (7/unlimited vs. 3/36,000).

The Purosangue’s 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 115 more horsepower (715 vs. 600) than the X6 M’s standard 4.4 turbo V8. The Purosangue’s 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 98 more horsepower (715 vs. 617) than the X6 M’s standard 4.4 turbo V8.

The Purosangue has 4.5 gallons more fuel capacity than the X6 M (26.4 vs. 21.9 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Ferrari Purosangue higher (6 out of 10) than the BMW X6 M (3). This means the Purosangue produces up to 23.4 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the X6 M every 15,000 miles.

The Purosangue offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The X6 M doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

The Purosangue has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The X6 M doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The Purosangue’s 315/30R23 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the X6 M’s standard 35 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Purosangue has standard 22-inch front and 23-inch rear wheels. Smaller 21-inch wheels are standard on the X6 M. The X6 M’s largest wheels are only 21-inches in the front and 22-inches in the rear.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires optional on the Purosangue can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The X6 M doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Purosangue’s wheelbase is 1.8 inches longer than on the X6 M (118.8 inches vs. 117 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Purosangue is 1.5 inches wider in the front and 1.2 inches wider in the rear than on the X6 M.

The Ferrari Purosangue may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 900 pounds less than the BMW X6 M.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Purosangue’s rear seats recline. The X6 M’s rear seats don’t recline.

Both the Purosangue and the X6 M offer optional massaging front seats. The Purosangue also has standard massaging rear seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging rear seats aren’t available in the X6 M.
