Compare the2024 Ferrari Purosangue VS 2024 Maserati Levante

The Purosangue’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the Levante.

The Purosangue’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Levante doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Purosangue and the Levante have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras and rear cross-path warning.

The Purosangue comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Levante’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The Purosangue’s corrosion warranty is unlimited miles longer than the Levante’s (unlimited vs. 50,000 miles).

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the Purosangue for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Maserati doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Levante.

The Purosangue’s 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 370 more horsepower (715 vs. 345) and 159 lbs.-ft. more torque (528 vs. 369) than the Levante GT’s standard 3.0 turbo V6. The Purosangue’s 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 291 more horsepower (715 vs. 424) and 100 lbs.-ft. more torque (528 vs. 428) than the Levante Modena’s standard 3.0 turbo V6. The Purosangue’s 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 165 more horsepower (715 vs. 550) than the Levante Modena S’ standard 3.8 turbo V8. The Purosangue’s 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 135 more horsepower (715 vs. 580) than the Levante Trofeo’s standard 3.8 turbo V8.

The Purosangue has 5.3 gallons more fuel capacity than the Levante (26.4 vs. 21.1 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Ferrari Purosangue higher (6 out of 10) than the Maserati Levante (1 to 3). This means the Purosangue produces up to 45.9 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Levante every 15,000 miles.

The Purosangue offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The Levante doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

For better stopping power the Purosangue’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Levante:

The Purosangue has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Levante doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

For better traction and acceleration, the Purosangue has larger rear tires than the Levante (315/30R23 vs. 265/45R20). The Purosangue’s rear tires are larger than the largest rear tires available on the Levante (315/30R23 vs. 295/45R20).

The Purosangue’s 255/35R22 front and 315/30R23 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Levante Modena/S’ standard 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Purosangue has standard 22-inch front and 23-inch rear wheels. Smaller 20-inch wheels are standard on the Levante Modena/S. The Levante’s largest wheels are only 22-inches.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires optional on the Purosangue can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The Levante doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

The Purosangue offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Maserati doesn’t offer an active suspension on the Levante.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Purosangue is 4.3 inches wider in the front and 1.3 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the Levante.

The Ferrari Purosangue may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 500 to 600 pounds less than the Maserati Levante.

The Purosangue’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Levante’s standard intermittent wipers change speed with vehicle speed, but can’t turn on and off or change speed based on changing rainfall.

The Purosangue’s LED headlights produce a white, bright light using less electricity than the Levante’s standard xenon high intensity discharge (HID) headlights. HID headlights can be slow to reach full brightness or power cycle, causing issues when flashing them to signal other vehicles; LED headlights light instantly. LED lights also last about three to four times as long.

The Purosangue offers optional massaging front and standard massaging rear seats. Massaging seats aren’t available in the Levante.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Ferrari Purosangue has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. The Levante doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.
