Compare the2024 Ferrari Purosangue VS 2024 Cadillac Escalade-V

The Purosangue’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Escalade-V doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

For better protection of the passenger compartment, the Purosangue uses safety cell construction with a three-dimensional high-strength frame that surrounds the passenger compartment. It provides extra impact protection and a sturdy mounting location for door hardware and side impact beams. The Escalade-V uses a body-on-frame design, which has no frame members above the floor of the vehicle.

Both the Purosangue and the Escalade-V have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras and rear cross-path warning.

The Purosangue comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Escalade-V’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the Purosangue for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Cadillac only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Escalade-V.

For smoother operation, better efficiency and fewer moving parts, the Purosangue has an overhead cam design, rather than the old pushrod design of the engine in the Escalade-V.

The Purosangue’s 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 33 more horsepower (715 vs. 682) than the Escalade-V’s 6.2 supercharged V8.

The Purosangue has 2.4 gallons more fuel capacity than the Escalade-V’s standard fuel tank (26.4 vs. 24 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Ferrari Purosangue higher (6 out of 10) than the Cadillac Escalade-V (3). This means the Purosangue produces up to 23.4 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Escalade-V every 15,000 miles.

The Purosangue offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The Escalade-V doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

For better stopping power the Purosangue’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Escalade-V:

The Purosangue has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Escalade-V doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

For better traction and acceleration, the Purosangue has larger rear tires than the Escalade-V (315/30R23 vs. 275/50R22).

The Purosangue’s 255/35R22 front and 315/30R23 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Escalade-V’s standard 50 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Purosangue has standard 23-inch rear wheels. Only 22-inch wheels are available on the Escalade-V.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires optional on the Purosangue can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The Escalade-V doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

The Purosangue offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Cadillac doesn’t offer an active suspension on the Escalade-V.

The Ferrari Purosangue may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1750 to 1950 pounds less than the Cadillac Escalade-V.

The Purosangue is 1 foot, 4.1 inches shorter than the Escalade-V, making the Purosangue easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Purosangue is 13.8 inches shorter in height than the Escalade-V, making the Purosangue much easier to wash and garage and drive (lower center of gravity).

Unibody construction lowers the Purosangue’s center of gravity significantly without reducing ground clearance. This contributes to better on the road handling and better off-road performance and stability. In addition, unibody construction makes the chassis stiffer, improving handling and reducing squeaks and rattles. The Escalade-V doesn’t use unibody construction, but a body-on-frame design.

Both the Purosangue and the Escalade-V offer available massaging front seats. The Purosangue also has standard massaging rear seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging second row seats aren’t available in the Escalade-V.
