The Purosangue’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Purosangue and the RS Q8 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras and rear cross-path warning.

The Purosangue comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The RS Q8’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the Purosangue for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Audi only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the RS Q8.

The Purosangue’s 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 124 more horsepower (715 vs. 591) than the RS Q8’s 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid.

The Purosangue has 3.9 gallons more fuel capacity than the RS Q8 (26.4 vs. 22.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Ferrari Purosangue higher (6 out of 10) than the Audi RS Q8 (3). This means the Purosangue produces up to 23.4 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the RS Q8 every 15,000 miles.

The Purosangue offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

The Purosangue has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

For better traction and acceleration, the Purosangue has larger rear tires than the RS Q8 (315/30R23 vs. 295/40R22).

The Purosangue’s 255/35R22 front and 315/30R23 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the RS Q8’s standard 40 series tires. The Purosangue’s tires are lower profile than the RS Q8’s 35 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Purosangue has standard 23-inch rear wheels. Smaller 22-inch wheels are standard on the RS Q8.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires optional on the Purosangue can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Purosangue is 1.8 inches wider in the front and 1 inch wider in the rear than on the RS Q8.

The Ferrari Purosangue may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1050 pounds less than the Audi RS Q8.

The Purosangue’s power side reverse swing out doors make it much easier to load and unload kids and cargo. One touch opens the door, before you even get to the sport utility. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer a power rear door.

The RS Q8’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The Purosangue’s standard adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

Both the Purosangue and the RS Q8 offer optional massaging front seats. The Purosangue also has standard massaging rear seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging rear seats aren’t available in the RS Q8.
