To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the DBX. But it costs extra on the QX80.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the DBX’s standard Hill Descent Control allows you to creep down safely. The QX80 doesn’t offer Hill Descent Control.

For better protection of the passenger compartment, the DBX uses safety cell construction with a three-dimensional high-strength frame that surrounds the passenger compartment. It provides extra impact protection and a sturdy mounting location for door hardware and side impact beams. The QX80 uses a body-on-frame design, which has no frame members above the floor of the vehicle.

Both the DBX and the QX80 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

The DBX comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The QX80’s 60,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The DBX’s corrosion warranty is 3 years longer than the QX80’s (10 vs. 7 years).

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the DBX’s fuel efficiency. The QX80 doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the DBX’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The QX80 doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

The DBX has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The QX80 doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

For better traction, the DBX has larger tires than the QX80 (F:285/40R22 & R:325/35R22 vs. 275/60R20).

The DBX’s standard 285/40R22 front and 325/35R22 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series front and 35 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the QX80 Luxe’s standard 60 series tires. The DBX’s optional 285/35R23 front and 325/30R23 rear tires have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile than the QX80 Premium Select/Sensory’s 50 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the DBX has standard 22-inch wheels. Smaller 20-inch wheels are standard on the QX80 Luxe. The DBX’s optional 23-inch wheels are larger than the 22-inch wheels on the QX80 Premium Select/Sensory.

XPYNN-M34HG 2a06:98c0:3600::103 2024/12/22

The DBX has active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The QX80 doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The front and rear suspension of the DBX uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the QX80, which uses coil springs in front. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The DBX offers an available active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Infiniti doesn’t offer an active suspension on the QX80.

The DBX has a standard driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The QX80’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The DBX707 handles at .97 G’s, while the QX80 AWD pulls only .72 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The DBX executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 4.2 seconds quicker than the QX80 AWD (24.4 seconds @ .79 average G’s vs. 28.6 seconds @ .57 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the DBX’s turning circle is .6 feet tighter than the QX80’s (40.7 feet vs. 41.3 feet).

For greater off-road capability the DBX has a greater minimum ground clearance than the QX80 (9.3 vs. 9.2 inches), allowing the DBX to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

XPYNN-M34HG 2a06:98c0:3600::103 2024/12/22

The Aston Martin DBX may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 750 to 950 pounds less than the Infiniti QX80.

The DBX is 11.8 inches shorter than the QX80, making the DBX easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The DBX is 9.7 inches shorter in height than the QX80, making the DBX much easier to wash and garage and drive (lower center of gravity).

Unibody construction lowers the DBX’s center of gravity significantly without reducing ground clearance. This contributes to better on the road handling and better off-road performance and stability. In addition, unibody construction makes the chassis stiffer, improving handling and reducing squeaks and rattles. The QX80 doesn’t use unibody construction, but a body-on-frame design.

The DBX has 1 inch more front headroom and 2.1 inches more front legroom than the QX80.

Flexibility is maximized at the game, campground or a drive-in theatre in the DBX when its optional tailgating rear seats are deployed, allowing people to sit facing out of the liftgate. (Do not use while vehicle is in motion.) The QX80 doesn’t offer tailgating seats.

The DBX has a much larger cargo volume than the QX80 with its rear seat up (22.5 vs. 16.6 cubic feet).

A low lift-over cargo hatch design makes loading and unloading the DBX easier. The DBX’s cargo hatch lift-over height is 31.9 inches, while the QX80’s liftover is 35.8 inches.

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the DBX’s available liftgate can be opened and closed just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The QX80 doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its liftgate, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the QX80, the DBX has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The DBX’s power parking brake sets with one touch and releases with one touch or automatically. The QX80’s parking brake has to be released manually.

The power windows standard on both the DBX and the QX80 have locks to prevent small children from operating them. When the lock on the DBX is engaged the driver can still operate all of the windows, for instance to close one opened by a child. The QX80 prevents the driver from operating the other windows just as it does the other passengers.

To better shield the driver and front passenger’s vision, the DBX has standard dual-element sun visors that can block glare from two directions simultaneously. The QX80 doesn’t offer secondary sun visors.

Optional air conditioned front and rear seats keep the DBX’s passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The QX80 doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats for the second row.

The DBX’s Auto Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The QX80 doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
