The Aston Martin DBS has a standard driver’s side knee airbag mounted low on the dashboard. The knee airbag helps prevent the driver from sliding under the seatbelts or the main frontal airbag; this keeps the driver better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. A knee airbag also helps keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Corvette doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The DBS has a standard Birds-eye Camera to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The Corvette only offers a rear monitor and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the front or sides.

The DBS has a standard blind spot warning system that uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. A system to reveal vehicles in the Corvette’s blind spot costs extra.

The DBS comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Corvette’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The DBS’ corrosion warranty is 4 years and unlimited miles longer than the Corvette’s (10/unlimited vs. 6/100,000).

For smoother operation, better efficiency and fewer moving parts, the engines in the DBS have an overhead cam design, rather than the old pushrod design of some of the engines in the Corvette.

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the DBS’ engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The Corvette doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

The DBS has 2.6 gallons more fuel capacity than the Corvette (21.1 vs. 18.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

Both the DBS and Corvette have a standard remote lowering convertible top; however, in case of a sudden change of weather, the DBS has a standard remote convertible roof that can be raised from a distance to protect the interior of the vehicle from damage. The Corvette doesn’t offer a remote closing roof, so the driver will have to run to the car, get in, turn the ignition on and raise the top to prevent the interior from being damaged.

The DBS’ rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Corvette’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the DBS has standard cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The Corvette doesn’t offer cornering lights. The DBS also has standard adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle.

The DBS’ Auto Parking can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The Corvette doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
