The DB12’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the Continental GT.

The DB12’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Continental GT doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the DB12 and the Continental GT have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

Warranty

The DB12’s corrosion warranty is 7 years longer than the Continental GT’s (10 vs. 3 years).

Engine

The DB12’s 4.0 turbo V8 produces 129 more horsepower (671 vs. 542) and 22 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 568) than the Continental GT’s standard 4.0 turbo V8. The DB12’s 4.0 turbo V8 produces 21 more horsepower (671 vs. 650) than the Continental GT SPEED’s standard 6.0 turbo 12-cylinder.

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the DB12 has larger tires than the Continental GT (F:275/35R21 & R:325/30R21 vs. F:265/40R21 & R:305/35R21).

The DB12’s 275/35R21 front and 325/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Continental GT’s standard 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

Chassis

The Aston Martin DB12 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1050 to 1600 pounds less than the Bentley Continental GT.

The DB12 is 4.9 inches shorter than the Continental GT, making the DB12 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Ergonomics

If the windows are left open on the DB12 the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the Continental GT can’t use the remote to operate the windows.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the DB12 has standard cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The Continental GT doesn’t offer cornering lights. The DB12 also has standard adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle.
