For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Chevrolet Blazer EV are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The VinFast VF 8 doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

Both the Blazer EV and VF 8 have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Blazer EV has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The VF 8’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Blazer EV are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The VF 8 doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

Both the Blazer EV and VF 8 have Rear Cross Traffic Alert, but the Blazer EV has Rear Cross Traffic Braking (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The VF 8’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the Blazer EV and the VF 8 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, available around view monitors and driver alert monitors.

There are almost 726 times as many Chevrolet dealers as there are VinFast dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Blazer EV’s warranty.

For better traction, the Blazer EV has larger standard tires than the VF 8 (255/60R19 vs. 225/55R19). The Blazer EV RS’ tires are larger than the largest tires available on the VF 8 (275/45R21 vs. 245/45R20).

The Chevrolet Blazer EV’s wheels have 6 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The VinFast VF 8 only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.

The Blazer EV has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The VF 8 doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires available on the Blazer EV can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The VF 8 doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.

For superior ride and handling, the Chevrolet Blazer EV has fully independent front and rear suspensions. An independent suspension allows the wheels to follow the road at the best angle for gripping the pavement, without compromising ride comfort. The VinFast VF 8 has a rear torsion beam axle, with a semi-independent rear suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Blazer EV’s wheelbase is 5.7 inches longer than on the VF 8 (121.8 inches vs. 116.1 inches).

For greater off-road capability the Blazer EV has a 2.3 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the VF 8 (7.9 vs. 5.6 inches), allowing the Blazer EV to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Chevrolet Blazer EV may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 350 to 600 pounds less than the VinFast VF 8.

For excellent aerodynamics, the Blazer EV has standard flush composite headlights. The VF 8 has recessed headlights that spoil its aerodynamic shape and create extra drag.

Standard Trailer Sway Control on the Blazer EV uses the StabiliTrak® sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The VF 8 doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

The Blazer EV’s power mirror controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The VF 8’s power mirror controls are embedded in the infotainment system, seriously distracting drivers who have to adjust them while driving.

The Blazer EV is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The VF 8 doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.

Motor Trend selected the Blazer EV as their 2024 Sport Utility of the Year. The VF 8 has never been chosen.
