Compare the2024 Chevrolet Blazer EVVS 2024 Jaguar I-Pace

For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Chevrolet Blazer EV are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Jaguar I-Pace doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Blazer EV are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The I-Pace doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

The Chevrolet Blazer EV has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The I-Pace doesn’t offer knee airbags.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Blazer EV offers optional Reverse Automatic Braking that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The I-Pace doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

The Blazer EV offers an optional HD Surround Vision to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The I-Pace only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the Blazer EV and the I-Pace have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available driver alert monitors.

The Chevrolet Blazer EV weighs 451 to 807 pounds more than the Jaguar I-Pace. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

There are over 15 times as many Chevrolet dealers as there are Jaguar dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Blazer EV’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2023 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Chevrolet vehicles are better in initial quality than Jaguar vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Chevrolet above average in initial quality. With 19 more problems per 100 vehicles, Jaguar is rated lower.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2022 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Chevrolet vehicles are more reliable than Jaguar vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Chevrolet above average in long-term dependability. With 21 more problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, Jaguar is rated below average.

For better traction, the Blazer EV has larger standard tires than the I-Pace (255/60R19 vs. 245/50R20). The Blazer EV RS’ tires are larger than the largest tires available on the I-Pace (275/45R21 vs. 255/40R22).

The Chevrolet Blazer EV’s wheels have 6 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Jaguar I-Pace only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.

The Blazer EV has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The I-Pace doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires available on the Blazer EV can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The I-Pace doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Blazer EV’s wheelbase is 4.1 inches longer than on the I-Pace (121.8 inches vs. 117.7 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Blazer EV is 1.2 inches wider in the front and .5 inches wider in the rear than on the I-Pace.

For better maneuverability, the Blazer EV’s turning circle is .8 feet tighter than the I-Pace’s (39.7 feet vs. 40.5 feet).

For greater off-road capability the Blazer EV has a 1.4 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the I-Pace (7.9 vs. 6.5 inches), allowing the Blazer EV to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Blazer EV has 1 inch more front headroom, 3.3 inches more front legroom, 1.1 inches more front shoulder room, 3.9 inches more rear legroom and 3.7 inches more rear shoulder room than the I-Pace.

The Blazer EV has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the I-Pace with its rear seat folded (59.1 vs. 53.6 cubic feet).

Maximum trailer towing in the Jaguar I-Pace is limited to 1653 pounds. The Blazer EV RS 4x4 offers up to a 3500 lbs. towing capacity.

Standard Trailer Sway Control on the Blazer EV uses the StabiliTrak® sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The I-Pace doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Blazer EV has a standard rear wiper. The I-Pace doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The Blazer EV is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The I-Pace doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.

Motor Trend selected the Blazer EV as their 2024 Sport Utility of the Year. The I-Pace has never been chosen.
