Power and Associates’ 2022 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Chevrolet vehicles are more reliable than Infiniti vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Chevrolet above average in long-term dependability. With 21 more problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, Infiniti is rated below average.

The Traverse Limited’s 3.6 DOHC V6 produces 15 more horsepower (310 vs. 295) than the QX60’s 3.5 DOHC V6.

As tested in Motor Trend the Chevrolet Traverse Limited is faster than the Infiniti QX60:

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Chevrolet Traverse Limited uses regular unleaded gasoline. The QX60 requires premium for maximum efficiency, which can cost on average about 82.8 cents more per gallon.

The Traverse Limited FWD’s standard fuel tank has almost a gallon more fuel capacity than the QX60 (19.4 vs. 18.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups. The Traverse Limited AWD’s standard fuel tank has 3.2 gallons more fuel capacity than the QX60 (21.7 vs. 18.5 gallons).

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Chevrolet Traverse Limited higher (6 out of 10) than the Infiniti QX60 (5). This means the Traverse Limited produces up to 6.9 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the QX60 every 15,000 miles.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Traverse Limited’s wheelbase is 6.7 inches longer than on the QX60 (120.9 inches vs. 114.2 inches).

The Traverse Limited RS AWD handles at .81 G’s, while the QX60 Sensory AWD pulls only .80 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Traverse Limited RS AWD executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1 seconds quicker than the QX60 Sensory AWD (27 seconds @ .65 average G’s vs. 28 seconds @ .6 average G’s).

For greater off-road capability the Traverse Limited has a greater minimum ground clearance than the QX60 (7.5 vs. 6.7 inches), allowing the Traverse Limited to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The front grille of the Traverse Limited uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The QX60 doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The Traverse Limited uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The QX60 doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The Traverse Limited has standard seating for 8 passengers; the QX60 can only carry 7.

The Traverse Limited has 2 inches more front headroom, 1.3 inches more front shoulder room, 2.5 inches more rear headroom, .7 inches more rear legroom, .2 inches more rear hip room, 2.5 inches more rear shoulder room, 2.5 inches more third row headroom, 5.5 inches more third row legroom, 3.3 inches more third row hip room and 1.9 inches more third row shoulder room than the QX60.

The Traverse Limited’s cargo area provides more volume than the QX60.

The Traverse Limited can be flat towed on all four wheels (dinghy towed), allowing recreational vehicle owners to bring it with them on the road. When they reach their destination, the Traverse Limited can be unhitched and driven around locally. The QX60 can’t be towed flat on the ground.

In case you lock your keys in your vehicle, or don’t have them with you, you can let yourself in using the Traverse Limited’s available exterior PIN entry system. The QX60 doesn’t offer an exterior PIN entry system, and its Infiniti Connection can’t unlock the doors if the vehicle doesn’t have cell phone reception or the driver can’t contact the service.

Consumer Reports rated the Traverse Limited’s headlight performance “Very Good,” a higher rating than the QX60’s headlights, which were rated “Fair.”

Insurance will cost less for the Traverse Limited owner. The Complete Car Cost Guide estimates that insurance for the Traverse Limited will cost $220 to $2840 less than the QX60 over a five-year period.

The Traverse Limited will cost the buyer less in the long run because of its superior resale value. The IntelliChoice estimates that the Traverse Limited will retain 49.82% to 51.87% of its original price after five years, while the QX60 only retains 47.06% to 47.83%.

IntelliChoice estimates that five-year ownership costs (depreciation, financing, insurance, fuel, fees, repairs and maintenance) for the Chevrolet Traverse Limited will be $11322 to $13615 less than for the Infiniti QX60.
