The Yukon XL Denali’s standard 6.2 V8 produces 65 more horsepower (420 vs. 355) and 77 lbs.-ft. more torque (460 vs. 383) than the Suburban’s standard 5.3 V8.

The Yukon XL Denali Ultimate has standard massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the Suburban.

Insurance will cost less for the Yukon XL owner. The Car Book by Jack Gillis rates the Yukon XL with a number “6” insurance rate while the Suburban is rated higher at a number “10” rate.

According to The Car Book by Jack Gillis, the Yukon XL is less expensive to operate than the Suburban because typical repairs cost less on the Yukon XL than the Suburban, including $16 less for front brake pads and $6 less for front struts.

The GMC Yukon/Yukon XL outsold the Chevrolet Suburban by 62% during 2022.
