A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Land Rover Range Rover doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Armada are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Range Rover doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

The Armada has standard Active Head Restraints, which use a specially designed headrest to protect the driver and front passenger from whiplash. During a rear-end collision, the Active Head Restraints system moves the headrests forward to prevent neck and spine injuries. The Range Rover doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Armada has standard Rear Automatic Braking that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Range Rover doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

Both the Armada and the Range Rover have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors, available all wheel drive and around view monitors.

Nissan’s powertrain warranty covers the Armada 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Land Rover covers the Range Rover. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the Range Rover ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are over 5 times as many Nissan dealers as there are Land Rover dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Armada’s warranty.

The Armada’s 5.6 DOHC V8 produces 6 more horsepower (400 vs. 394) and 7 lbs.-ft. more torque (413 vs. 406) than the Range Rover P400’s standard 3.0 turbo/supercharged 6-cylinder hybrid.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Nissan Armada uses regular unleaded gasoline. The Range Rover requires premium, which can cost on average about 82.8 cents more per gallon.

The Armada SV has a standard full size spare so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare costs extra on the Range Rover. Without the option you must depend on a temporary spare, which has mileage and speed limitations, or roadside assistance and a tow-truck.

The Armada’s liftgate lifts up in one piece, completely out of the way of loading and unloading, while sheltering the cargo loading area. The Range Rover’s tailgate’s top part raises up, but the bottom part lowers, getting in the way of loading and making an uneven surface for sliding cargo.

The Armada’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Range Rover’s (8500 vs. 8200 pounds).

The Armada SL/Platinum’s standard easy entry system raises the steering wheel and glides the driver’s seat back when the door is unlocked or the ignition is switched off, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. The Range Rover doesn’t offer an easy entry system.
