For enhanced safety, the front and middle seat shoulder belts of the Nissan Armada are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Jeep Wagoneer doesn’t offer height-adjustable middle seat belts.

The Armada’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the Wagoneer.

Both the Armada and Wagoneer have rear cross-traffic warning, but the Armada Platinum has Intelligent Back-Up Intervention (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Wagoneer’s Rear Cross Path Detection doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the Armada and the Wagoneer have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, plastic fuel tanks, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, available all wheel drive and around view monitors.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2023 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Nissan vehicles are better in initial quality than Jeep vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Nissan above average in initial quality. With 11 more problems per 100 vehicles, Jeep is rated lower.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Nissan Armada uses regular unleaded gasoline. The Grand Wagoneer requires premium, which can cost on average about 82.8 cents more per gallon.

The Armada stops much shorter than the Wagoneer:

The rear suspension of the Armada uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Wagoneer, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The Armada Platinum 4x4 handles at .74 G’s, while the Wagoneer 4x4 pulls only .67 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Armada Platinum 4x4 executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 2.4 seconds quicker than the Wagoneer Series III 4x4 (28 seconds @ .61 average G’s vs. 30.4 seconds @ .52 average G’s).

For greater off-road capability the Armada SV has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Wagoneer (9.1 vs. 8.3 inches), allowing the Armada to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Armada is 5.8 inches shorter than the Wagoneer, making the Armada easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Armada’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Wagoneer’s (8500 vs. 6130 pounds).

If the windows are left open on the Armada the driver can close them all at the outside door handle. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows at the outside door handle or from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the Wagoneer can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.
