BMW charges extra for Cross Traffic Warning on the M8 and the M8’s Cross Traffic Warning does not include automatic braking.

Both the AMG GT 4-Door and the M8 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, driver alert monitors and available lane departure warning systems.

A nine-speed automatic is available on the Mercedes AMG GT 4-Door, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the M8.

The AMG GT 4-Door’s optional 315/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the M8’s 35 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the AMG GT 4-Door offers optional 21-inch wheels. The M8’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.

Heated windshield washer fluid is standard on the AMG GT 4-Door to defrost the washer nozzles and quickly clear ice and frost from the windshield without scraping. The M8 doesn’t offer heated windshield washer fluid.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the AMG GT 4-Door has standard extendable sun visors. The M8 doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The AMG GT 4-Door offers an optional center folding armrest for the rear passengers. A center armrest helps make rear passengers more comfortable and it can provide a boundary between children. The M8 doesn’t offer a rear seat center armrest.

The AMG GT 4-Door offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the M8.

The AMG GT 4-Door offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The M8 doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
