Safety
Warranty
The QX50 comes with a full 4-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Nautilus’ 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 10,000 miles sooner.
The QX50’s corrosion warranty is 2 years longer than the Nautilus’ (7 vs. 5 years).
Infiniti pays for scheduled maintenance on the QX50 for 3 years and 24,000 miles. Infiniti will pay for oil changes, tire rotations, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Lincoln only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Nautilus.
Engine
The QX50’s 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder produces 18 more horsepower (268 vs. 250) and 5 lbs.-ft. more torque (280 vs. 275) than the Nautilus’ standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder.
Brakes and Stopping
The QX50’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs on the Nautilus are solid, not vented.
Tires and Wheels
The QX50’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 55 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Nautilus’ standard 60 series tires.
The QX50 has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Nautilus doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.
Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires standard on the QX50 can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The Nautilus doesn’t offer run-flat tires.
Suspension and Handling
For better maneuverability, the QX50’s turning circle is 1.1 feet tighter than the Nautilus’ (36.4 feet vs. 37.5 feet).
For greater off-road capability the QX50 has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Nautilus (8.6 vs. 7.9 inches), allowing the QX50 to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.
Chassis
The Infiniti QX50 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 350 to 500 pounds less than the Lincoln Nautilus.
The QX50 is 8.5 inches shorter than the Nautilus, making the QX50 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.
Towing
Maximum trailer towing in the Lincoln Nautilus is limited to 1750 pounds. The QX50 AWD offers up to a 3000 lbs. towing capacity.
Servicing Ease
J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Infiniti service is better than Lincoln. J.D. Power ranks Infiniti 9th in service department satisfaction (above the industry average). With an 8% lower rating, Lincoln is ranked 12th.
Ergonomics
The QX50 Sensory/Autograph has a standard heads-up display that projects speed and navigation instruction readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Nautilus doesn’t offer a heads-up display.
The QX50’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Nautilus has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.
