The EV6 GT’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Electrified GV70’s 45 series tires.
For better ride, handling and brake cooling the EV6 GT has standard 21-inch wheels. The Electrified GV70’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.
Suspension and Handling
The EV6 has vehicle speed sensitive variable-assist power steering, for low-effort parking, better control at highway speeds and during hard cornering, and a better feel of the road. The Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer variable-assist power steering.
The EV6 GT handles at .92 G’s, while the Electrified GV70 Prestige pulls only .85 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.
The EV6 GT executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1.2 seconds quicker than the Electrified GV70 Prestige (25.1 seconds @ .77 average G’s vs. 26.3 seconds @ .74 average G’s).
Chassis
The Kia EV6 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 200 to 1000 pounds less than the Genesis Electrified GV70.
The front grille of the EV6 uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer active grille shutters.
Passenger Space
The EV6 has .4 inches more front headroom, 1.1 inches more front legroom and 2.4 inches more rear legroom than the Electrified GV70.
Cargo Capacity

J.D. Power and Associates rated the EV6 first among compact suvs in owner reported satisfaction. This includes how well the vehicle performs and satisfies its owner’s expectations. The Electrified GV70 isn’t in the top three.
A group of representative automotive journalists from North America selected the EV6 as the 2023 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year. The Electrified GV70 has never been chosen.
