Both the Range Rover Evoque and UX have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Range Rover Evoque has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The UX’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Range Rover Evoque. But it costs extra on the UX.

The Range Rover Evoque offers an optional 3D Surround Camera to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The UX only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the Range Rover Evoque and UX have rear cross-traffic warning, but the Range Rover Evoque has Rear Traffic Braking (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The UX’s Rear Cross-Traffic Alert doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the Range Rover Evoque and the UX have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The Range Rover Evoque’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder produces 65 more horsepower (246 vs. 181) than the UX’s 2.0 DOHC 4-cylinder hybrid.

Both the Range Rover Evoque and UX have a standard automatic start/stop engine feature to stop unnecessary fuel waste and pollution at stoplights and heavy traffic. The Range Rover Evoque has a standard disable switch for the system, so a driver can keep the engine from shutting off when the vehicle stops temporarily.

The Range Rover Evoque has 7.1 gallons more fuel capacity than the UX (17.7 vs. 10.6 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better traction, the Range Rover Evoque has larger standard tires than the UX (235/60R18 vs. 225/50R18). The Range Rover Evoque’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the UX (245/45R21 vs. 225/50R18).

The Range Rover Evoque’s optional tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the UX’s 50 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Range Rover Evoque offers optional 21-inch wheels. The UX’s largest wheels are only 18-inches.

The Range Rover Evoque has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the UX; it requires you to depend on its run-flat tires, which limits mileage and speed before they are repaired. If a run-flat is damaged beyond repair by a road hazard your vehicle will have to be towed.

The Range Rover Evoque offers an optional driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The UX’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Range Rover Evoque’s wheelbase is 1.6 inches longer than on the UX (105.5 inches vs. 103.9 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Range Rover Evoque is 2.9 inches wider in the front and 3.2 inches wider in the rear than on the UX.

The Range Rover Evoque is 4.9 inches shorter than the UX, making the Range Rover Evoque easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Standard Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) on the Range Rover Evoque uses the Dynamic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The UX doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

The Range Rover Evoque uses gas struts to support the hood for easier service access. The UX uses a prop rod to support its heavy hood. It takes two hands to open the hood and set the prop rod, the prop rod gets in the way during maintenance and service, and the prop rod could be knocked out, causing the heavy hood to fall on the person maintaining or servicing the car.

Unlike the driver-only memory seat and mirrors in the UX F Sport Handling, the Range Rover Evoque has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Range Rover Evoque’s standard easy entry system raises the steering wheel, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. An easy entry system costs extra on the UX.

The power windows standard on both the Range Rover Evoque and the UX have locks to prevent small children from operating them. When the lock on the Range Rover Evoque is engaged the driver can still operate all of the windows, for instance to close one opened by a child. The UX prevents the driver from operating the other windows just as it does the other passengers.

The Range Rover Evoque’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The UX’s standard manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the Range Rover Evoque to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The UX doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

The Range Rover Evoque has standard heated front seats. Heated front seats cost extra on the UX, and aren’t available on the UX Base. The Range Rover Evoque also offers optional heated rear seats to keep those passengers extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated rear seats aren’t available in the UX.

The Range Rover Evoque has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the UX.
