Both the Range Rover and the SQ7 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the Range Rover third among large premium suvs in their 2023 Initial Quality Study. The SQ7 isn’t in the top three in its category.

The Range Rover P530’s standard 4.4 turbo V8 produces 23 more horsepower (523 vs. 500) than the SQ7’s 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid. The Range Rover P550e’s standard 3.0 turbo/supercharged 6-cylinder hybrid produces 42 more horsepower (542 vs. 500) than the SQ7’s 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid. The Range Rover SV’s standard 4.4 turbo V8 produces 106 more horsepower (606 vs. 500) than the SQ7’s 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid.

On the EPA test cycle the Range Rover running its gasoline engine gets better mileage than the SQ7:

The Range Rover’s standard fuel tank has 1.3 gallons more fuel capacity than the SQ7 (23.8 vs. 22.5 gallons).

The Range Rover’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The SQ7 doesn’t offer launch control.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Range Rover offers optional 23-inch wheels. The SQ7’s largest wheels are only 21-inches.

The Range Rover offers an optional full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the SQ7; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

The Range Rover’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The SQ7 doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Range Rover SWB’s wheelbase is .1 inches longer than on the SQ7 (118 inches vs. 117.9 inches). The Range Rover LWB’s wheelbase is 8.1 inches longer than on the SQ7 (126 inches vs. 117.9 inches).

For better maneuverability, the Range Rover SWB’s turning circle is 5.1 feet tighter than the SQ7’s (35.9 feet vs. 41 feet). The Range Rover LWB’s turning circle is 3.1 feet tighter than the SQ7’s (37.9 feet vs. 41 feet).

The Range Rover uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The SQ7 doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Range Rover’s middle and third row seats recline. The SQ7’s third row seats don’t recline.

Flexibility is maximized at the game, campground or a drive-in theatre in the Range Rover when its optional tailgating rear seats are deployed, allowing people to sit facing out of the tailgate. (Do not use while vehicle is in motion.) The SQ7 doesn’t offer tailgating seats.

Standard air conditioned seats in the front and second seat rows keep the Range Rover’s passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The SQ7 doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats for the second row.

Both the Range Rover and the SQ7 offer available massaging front seats. The Range Rover also offers optional massaging second row seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging second row seats aren’t available in the SQ7.

The Range Rover has a 115-volt a/c outlet, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The SQ7 doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
