Compare the2024 Mitsubishi Mirage VS 2024 Subaru Impreza

The Mirage offers available Park Assist Sensors to help warn the driver about vehicles, pedestrians or other obstacles behind or in front of their vehicle. The Impreza doesn’t offer a front parking aid.

Both the Mirage and the Impreza have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, rearview cameras, available daytime running lights and lane departure warning systems.

The Mirage comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Impreza’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 2 years or 24,000 miles sooner.

Mitsubishi’s powertrain warranty covers the Mirage 5 years and 40,000 miles longer than Subaru covers the Impreza. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the Impreza ends after only 5 years or 60,000 miles.

The Mirage’s corrosion warranty is 2 years longer than the Impreza’s (7 vs. 5 years).

Mitsubishi pays for scheduled maintenance on the Mirage for 2 years and 30,000 miles. Mitsubishi will pay for oil changes, tire rotations, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance (up to 3 visits). Subaru doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Impreza.

Power and Associates’ 2022 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Mitsubishi vehicles are more reliable than Subaru vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Mitsubishi above average in long-term dependability. With 9 more problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, Subaru is rated below average.

The Mirage has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the Impreza; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

For better maneuverability, the Mirage Hatchback’s turning circle is 4.6 feet tighter than the Impreza’s (30.2 feet vs. 34.8 feet). The Mirage G4’s turning circle is 3.3 feet tighter than the Impreza’s (31.5 feet vs. 34.8 feet).

The Mitsubishi Mirage may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1050 to 1150 pounds less than the Subaru Impreza.

The Mirage G4 is 6.7 inches shorter than the Impreza, making the Mirage easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Mirage LE/SE/Black Edition’s standard wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically according to the amount of rainfall on the windshield. The Impreza’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

The Mitsubishi Mirage comes in sedan and station wagon bodystyles; the Subaru Impreza isn’t available as a station wagon.
