Both the Q4 e-tron Sportback and EQB have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Q4 e-tron Sportback has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The EQB’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Q4 e-tron Sportback. But it costs extra on the EQB.

The Q4 e-tron Sportback’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the EQB.

Both the Q4 e-tron Sportback and the EQB have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

The Audi Q4 e-tron Sportback achieved a “Top Safety Pick” rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for the 2024 model year. This recognition was based on its impressive performance in the small overlap frontal crash test, updated side impact crash test, headlight evaluations, and pedestrian crash prevention testing. The EQB has not yet been evaluated by the IIHS for 2024.

The Q4 e-tron Sportback’s corrosion warranty is 7 years longer than the EQB’s (12 vs. 5 years).

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Audi vehicles are more reliable than Mercedes vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Audi 10 places higher in reliability than Mercedes.

The Q4 e-tron Sportback’s electric motors produces 107 more horsepower (295 vs. 188) and 55 lbs.-ft. more torque (339 vs. 284) than the EQB 250+’s standard electric motor. The Q4 e-tron Sportback’s electric motors produces 70 more horsepower (295 vs. 225) and 51 lbs.-ft. more torque (339 vs. 288) than the EQB 300’s standard electric motor. The Q4 e-tron Sportback’s electric motors produces 7 more horsepower (295 vs. 288) than the EQB 350’s standard electric motor.

The Q4 50 e-tron Sportback can travel longer on a full charge than the EQB 350 (242 miles vs. 227 miles).

For better stopping power the Q4 e-tron Sportback’s front brake rotors are larger than those on the EQB:

For better traction and acceleration, the Q4 e-tron Sportback has larger rear tires than the EQB (255/45R20 vs. 235/50R19).

The Q4 e-tron Sportback’s 235/50R20 front and 255/45R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 50 series front and 45 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the EQB’s standard 55 series tires. The Q4 e-tron Sportback’s tires are lower profile than the EQB’s optional 50 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Q4 e-tron Sportback has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the EQB. The EQB’s largest wheels are only 19-inches.

The Q4 e-tron Sportback has standard front and rear gas-charged shocks for better control over choppy roads. The EQB’s suspension doesn’t offer gas-charged shocks.

For better maneuverability, the Q4 e-tron Sportback’s turning circle is .7 feet tighter than the EQB’s (37.7 feet vs. 38.4 feet).

The Q4 e-tron Sportback is 3.7 inches shorter than the EQB, making the Q4 e-tron Sportback easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Q4 e-tron Sportback has .1 inches more front legroom, .8 inches more front shoulder room and .2 inches more rear shoulder room than the EQB.

The Q4 e-tron Sportback has a much larger cargo volume than the EQB with its rear seat up (26.1 vs. 10.7 cubic feet).

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Audi service is better than Mercedes. J.D. Power ranks Audi 8th in service department satisfaction (above the industry average). With a 16% lower rating, Mercedes is ranked 18th.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Q4 e-tron Sportback Prestige has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The EQB doesn’t offer headlight washers.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Q4 e-tron Sportback has standard extendable sun visors. The EQB doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The Q4 e-tron Sportback has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the EQB.
