The Q4 e-tron’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Hummer EV SUV doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The Q4 e-tron has standard front and rear seat side-impact airbags and head airbags, which act as a forgiving barrier between the passengers and the door. Combined with high-strength steel door beams this system increases protection from broadside collisions. The Hummer EV SUV doesn't offer rear-seat side-impact airbags, only ones for front seat occupants.

The Q4 e-tron has a standard Secondary Collision Brake Assist, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Hummer EV SUV doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Both the Q4 e-tron and Hummer EV SUV have rear cross-traffic warning, but the Q4 e-tron has Automatic Brake Activation (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Hummer EV SUV’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the Q4 e-tron and the Hummer EV SUV have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

The Audi Q4 e-tron achieved a “Top Safety Pick” rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for the 2024 model year. This recognition was based on its impressive performance in the small overlap frontal crash test, updated side impact crash test, headlight evaluations, and pedestrian crash prevention testing. The Hummer EV SUV has not yet been evaluated by the IIHS for 2024.

The Q4 e-tron comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Hummer EV SUV’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 14,000 miles sooner.

The Q4 e-tron’s corrosion warranty is 6 years and unlimited miles longer than the Hummer EV SUV’s (12/unlimited vs. 6/100,000).

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Audi vehicles are more reliable than GMC vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Audi 5 places higher in reliability than GMC.

On the EPA test cycle the Q4 e-tron gets better mileage than the Hummer EV SUV:

The Q4 e-tron has a standard locking charge port which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The Hummer EV SUV doesn’t have a locking charge port. A locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

The Q4 e-tron stops much shorter than the Hummer EV SUV:

The Q4 e-tron’s standard 235/55R19 front and 255/50R19 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 55 series front and 50 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Hummer EV SUV’s 70 series tires. The Q4 e-tron Quattro’s optional 235/50R20 front and 255/45R20 rear tires have a lower 50 series front and 45 series rear profile than the Hummer EV SUV’s 55 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Q4 e-tron has standard 19-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the Hummer EV SUV.

The Q4 50 e-tron Prestige handles at .84 G’s, while the Hummer EV SUV pulls only .76 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

For better maneuverability, the Q4 e-tron 40’s turning circle is 1.9 feet tighter than the Hummer EV SUV 2X/3X’s (33.5 feet vs. 35.4 feet). The Q4 e-tron 50’s turning circle is 4.3 feet tighter than the Hummer EV SUV 2’s (37.7 feet vs. 42 feet).

The Q4 e-tron is 2 feet, 2 inches shorter than the Hummer EV SUV, making the Q4 e-tron easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Q4 e-tron is 1 foot, 1.1 inches narrower than the Hummer EV SUV, making the Q4 e-tron easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.

The Q4 e-tron is 13.1 inches shorter in height than the Hummer EV SUV, making the Q4 e-tron much easier to wash and garage and drive (lower center of gravity).

The Q4 e-tron’s liftgate lifts up in one piece, completely out of the way of loading and unloading, while sheltering the cargo loading area. The Hummer EV SUV’s swing out door blocks loading from the passenger’s side.

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the Q4 e-tron’s available liftgate can be opened and closed just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The Hummer EV SUV doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its cargo door, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

A maintenance reminder system is standard on the Q4 e-tron to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals for vehicle inspections, vehicle inspection based on odometer mileage. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. GMC doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Hummer EV SUV.

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Audi service is better than GMC. J.D. Power ranks Audi 8th in service department satisfaction (above the industry average). With a 12% lower rating, GMC is ranked 15th.

The Q4 e-tron offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Hummer EV SUV doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Q4 e-tron’s front and rear power windows all open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Hummer EV SUV’s power windows’ switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully.

If the windows are left open on the Q4 e-tron the driver can close them all at the outside door handle or from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the Hummer EV SUV can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Q4 e-tron to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Hummer EV SUV doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Q4 e-tron has a standard rear wiper. The Hummer EV SUV doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Q4 e-tron Prestige has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Hummer EV SUV doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The Q4 e-tron is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Hummer EV SUV doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
