The Q4 e-tron’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The I-Pace doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Audi Q4 e-tron are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Jaguar I-Pace doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

The Q4 e-tron has a standard Secondary Collision Brake Assist, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The I-Pace doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

The Q4 e-tron offers an optional Top View Camera System to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The I-Pace only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the Q4 e-tron and the I-Pace have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras and rear cross-path warning.

The Audi Q4 e-tron achieved a “Top Safety Pick” rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for the 2024 model year. This recognition was based on its impressive performance in the small overlap frontal crash test, updated side impact crash test, headlight evaluations, and pedestrian crash prevention testing. The I-Pace has not yet been evaluated by the IIHS for 2024.

The Q4 e-tron’s corrosion warranty is 6 years longer than the I-Pace’s (12 vs. 6 years).

There are over 2 times as many Audi dealers as there are Jaguar dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Q4 e-tron’s warranty.

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the Q4 e-tron’s reliability 18 points higher than the I-Pace.

For better traction and acceleration, the Q4 e-tron has larger rear tires than the I-Pace (255/50R19 vs. 245/50R20).

For better maneuverability, the Q4 e-tron 40’s turning circle is 7 feet tighter than the I-Pace’s (33.5 feet vs. 40.5 feet). The Q4 e-tron 50’s turning circle is 2.8 feet tighter than the I-Pace’s (37.7 feet vs. 40.5 feet).

The Q4 e-tron is 3.6 inches shorter than the I-Pace, making the Q4 e-tron easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Q4 e-tron is 5.8 inches narrower than the I-Pace, making the Q4 e-tron easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.

The Q4 e-tron has .3 inches more front legroom, .2 inches more rear headroom, 2.2 inches more rear legroom and .5 inches more rear shoulder room than the I-Pace.

The Q4 e-tron’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the I-Pace’s (2205 vs. 1653 pounds). Maximum trailer towing in the Jaguar I-Pace is only 1653 pounds. The Q4 e-tron offers up to a 2646 lbs. towing capacity.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Q4 e-tron to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. Heated windshield washer nozzles cost extra on the I-Pace.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Q4 e-tron has a standard rear wiper. The I-Pace doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

Consumer Reports rated the Q4 e-tron’s headlight performance “Very Good,” a higher rating than the I-Pace’s headlights, which were rated “Good.”

The Q4 e-tron is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The I-Pace doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.

Consumer Reports® recommends the Audi Q4 e-tron, based on reliability, safety and performance. The Jaguar I-Pace isn't recommended.
