Compare the2024 Jaguar XF VS 2023 Maserati Quattroporte

Both the XF and Quattroporte have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The XF has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The Quattroporte’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the XF’s standard All Surface Progress Control allows you to creep down safely. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer All Surface Progress Control.

Both the XF and Quattroporte have rear cross-traffic warning, but the XF has Rear Traffic Braking (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Quattroporte’s Rear Cross Path doesn’t automatically brake.

The XF’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the XF and the Quattroporte have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras and rear cross-path warning.

The XF comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Quattroporte’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 10,000 miles sooner.

The XF’s corrosion warranty is 2 years and unlimited miles longer than the Quattroporte’s (6/unlimited vs. 4/50,000).

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the XF for 5 years and 60,000 miles. Jaguar will pay for oil changes, tire rotations, air filter replacements, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Maserati doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Quattroporte.

There are over 63 percent more Jaguar dealers than there are Maserati dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the XF’s warranty.

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the XF’s reliability 20 points higher than the Quattroporte.

Regenerative brakes improve the XF’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Jaguar XF higher (7 out of 10) than the Maserati Quattroporte (1 to 3). This means the XF produces up to 47 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Quattroporte every 15,000 miles.

For better traction, the XF’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Quattroporte (255/35R20 vs. 245/40R20).

For better maneuverability, the XF’s turning circle is 2.3 feet tighter than the Quattroporte’s (38.2 feet vs. 40.5 feet).

The Jaguar XF may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 900 to 950 pounds less than the Maserati Quattroporte.

The XF is 11.9 inches shorter than the Quattroporte, making the XF easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The XF has .4 inches more rear headroom and 1.1 inches more rear shoulder room than the Quattroporte.

With its sedan body style, locking rear seatbacks and remote trunk release lockout, the XF offers cargo security. The Quattroporte’s non-lockable folding seat and non-lockable remote release defeat cargo security.

Standard Trailer Stability Assist on the XF uses the Dynamic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Quattroporte, the XF has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The XF offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed and navigation instruction readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

If the windows are left open on the XF the driver can close them all at the outside door handle. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows at the outside door handle or from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the Quattroporte can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The XF has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the Quattroporte.

The Jaguar XF outsold the Maserati Quattroporte by 38% during 2022.
