Compare the2024 Jaguar XF VS 2023 Genesis G80

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the XF’s standard All Surface Progress Control allows you to creep down safely. The G80 doesn’t offer All Surface Progress Control.

Both the XF and the G80 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the XF for 2 years and 24,000 miles longer than Genesis pays for maintenance for the G80 (5/60,000 vs. 3/36,000).

On the EPA test cycle the XF P300 AWD gets better fuel mileage than the G80 3.5T 3.5 turbo V6 (22 city/30 hwy vs. 16 city/25 hwy).

Regenerative brakes improve the XF’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The G80 doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The XF has 2.3 gallons more fuel capacity than the G80 2.5T’s standard fuel tank (19.5 vs. 17.2 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Jaguar XF higher (7 out of 10) than the Genesis G80 (5). This means the XF produces up to 8 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the G80 every 15,000 miles.

For better stopping power the XF’s standard brake rotors are larger than those on the G80:

The XF’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs standard on the G80 2.5T are solid, not vented.

For better traction, the XF’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the G80 (255/35R20 vs. 245/45R19).

The XF’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the G80 2.5T Standard’s standard 50 series tires. The XF’s optional tires have a lower 35 series profile than the G80 3.5T Sport Prestige’s optional 40 series front tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the XF has standard 19-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the G80 2.5T Standard.

The Jaguar XF may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 300 to 600 pounds less than the Genesis G80.

The XF’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The G80 doesn’t offer folding rear seats, only a ski pass-through.

Standard Trailer Stability Assist on the XF uses the Dynamic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The G80 doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the G80, the XF has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the XF to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The G80 doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The XF SE/R-Dynamic offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The G80 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The XF has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the G80.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Jaguar XF has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Only the G80 Sport/Sport Prestige offers wireless charging.
