Compare the2024 Nissan ZVS 2023 Jaguar F-Type

The Z has a standard blind spot warning system that uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. A system to reveal vehicles in the F-Type’s blind spot costs extra.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the Z has standard Rear Cross Traffic Alert, helping the driver avoid collisions. Jaguar charges extra for Rear Traffic Warning on the F-Type.

Both the Z and the F-Type have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras and driver alert monitors.

There are almost 6 times as many Nissan dealers as there are Jaguar dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Z’s warranty.

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the Z’s reliability 20 points higher than the F-Type.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2023 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Nissan vehicles are better in initial quality than Jaguar vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Nissan above average in initial quality. With 5 more problems per 100 vehicles, Jaguar is rated lower.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2022 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Nissan vehicles are more reliable than Jaguar With 28 fewer problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, J.D. Power ranks Nissan higher than Jaguar.

On the EPA test cycle the Z gets better mileage than the F-Type:

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Nissan Z higher (5 out of 10) than the Jaguar F-Type (3). This means the Z produces up to 16.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the F-Type every 15,000 miles.

The Z offers a manual transmission for better acceleration, control and sportiness. The F-Type doesn’t offer a manual transmission.

A nine-speed automatic is available on the Nissan Z, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the F-Type.

The Z has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The F-Type doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

For better maneuverability, the Z’s turning circle is 2.1 feet tighter than the F-Type’s (32.8 feet vs. 34.9 feet). The Z’s turning circle is 4.2 feet tighter than the F-Type AWD’s (32.8 feet vs. 37 feet).

The Z is 3.6 inches shorter than the F-Type, making the Z easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Z Performance/NISMO uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The F-Type doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The Z has 1.4 inches more front headroom and .1 inches more front legroom than the F-Type Coupe.

The Z Manual can be flat towed on all four wheels (dinghy towed), allowing recreational vehicle owners to bring it with them on the road. When they reach their destination, the Z can be unhitched and driven around locally. The F-Type can’t be towed flat on the ground.

The Z’s standard power windows have a locking feature to keep children from operating them. Jaguar does not offer a locking feature on the F-Type’s standard power windows.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Z has standard extendable sun visors. The F-Type doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The Z’s sun-visors swivel front-to-side to block glare from the side windows. The F-Type’s visors are fixed into the windshield header.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Z has a standard Intelligent Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The F-Type doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.

With standard voice command, the Z offers the driver hands free control of the radio and the navigation computer by simply speaking. The F-Type doesn’t offer a voice control system.
