Both the Hummer EV Pickup and Tundra have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Hummer EV Pickup has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The Tundra’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

Full-time four-wheel drive is standard on the Hummer EV Pickup. Full-time four-wheel drive gives added traction for safety in all conditions, not just off-road, like the only system available on the Tundra. Four-wheel drive of any type costs extra on the Tundra.

The Hummer EV Pickup has a standard blind spot warning system that uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. A system to reveal vehicles in the Tundra’s blind spot costs extra.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the Hummer EV Pickup has standard Rear Cross Traffic Alert, helping the driver avoid collisions. Toyota charges extra for Rear Cross Traffic Alert on the Tundra and its not available on the SR.

The Hummer EV Pickup’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Tundra doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

For superior ride and handling, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup has fully independent front and rear suspensions. An independent suspension allows the wheels to follow the road at the best angle for gripping the pavement, without compromising ride comfort. The Hummer EV Pickup’s standard Keyless Open and Start allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, unlock the tailgate, and start the truck, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Smart Key System standard on the Tundra doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear door.

The Hummer EV Pickup’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Tundra’s standard manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

The Hummer EV Pickup has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the Tundra.

The Hummer EV Pickup has a standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. Dual zone air conditioning costs extra on the Tundra and isn’t available on the Tundra SR.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the Tundra and isn’t available on the Tundra SR/SR5.

The Hummer EV Pickup’s Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The Tundra doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
