In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Envista are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Renegade doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

Both the Envista and the Renegade have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, available blind spot warning systems, rear parking sensors and rear cross-path warning.

The Envista’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the Renegade’s (6 vs. 5 years).

To reliably start during all conditions and help handle large electrical loads, the Envista has a standard 760-amp battery. The Renegade’s 500-amp battery isn’t as powerful.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2023 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Buick vehicles are better in initial quality than Jeep vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Buick fourth in initial quality, above the industry average. With 29 more problems per 100 vehicles, Jeep is ranked 19th.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2022 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the statistics that show that Buick vehicles are more reliable than Jeep vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Buick second in reliability, above the industry average. With 54 more problems per 100 vehicles, Jeep is ranked 19th.

On the EPA test cycle the Envista gets better mileage than the Renegade:

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Buick Envista uses regular unleaded gasoline. The Renegade requires premium for maximum efficiency, which can cost on average about 82.8 cents more per gallon.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Buick Envista higher (7 out of 10) than the Jeep Renegade (6). This means the Envista produces up to 1.1 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Renegade every 15,000 miles.

The Envista stops shorter than the Renegade:

For better traction, the Envista has larger standard tires than the Renegade (225/60R17 vs. 215/60R17). The Envista’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Renegade (245/45R19 vs. 235/45R19).

The Envista’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 60 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Renegade Trailhawk’s standard 65 series tires.

The Envista has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Renegade doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Envista’s wheelbase is 4.8 inches longer than on the Renegade (106 inches vs. 101.2 inches).

The Envista Sport Touring handles at .80 G’s, while the Renegade Trailhawk pulls only .73 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Envista Sport Touring executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the Renegade Trailhawk (28.5 seconds @ .58 average G’s vs. 29 seconds @ .58 average G’s).

The Buick Envista may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 300 to 400 pounds less than the Jeep Renegade.

For excellent aerodynamics, the Envista has standard flush composite headlights. The Renegade has recessed headlights that spoil its aerodynamic shape and create extra drag.

The Envista uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Renegade doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The Envista has .7 inches more front legroom, .1 inches more front shoulder room and 3.6 inches more rear legroom than the Renegade.

The Envista has a much larger cargo volume than the Renegade with its rear seat up (20.7 vs. 18.5 cubic feet).

To make loading and unloading groceries and cargo easier, especially for short adults, the Envista offers an optional power liftgate, which opens and closes automatically by pressing a button. The Renegade doesn’t offer a power liftgate.

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Buick service is better than Jeep. J.D. Power ranks Buick fifth in service department satisfaction. With a 38% lower rating, Jeep is ranked 26th.

The Envista’s front and rear power windows all lower with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Renegade’s rear power window switches have to be held the entire time to open them fully.

In case you lock your keys in your vehicle, or don’t have them with you, you can let yourself in using the Envista’s available exterior PIN entry system. The Renegade doesn’t offer an exterior PIN entry system, and its SiriusXM Guardian can’t unlock the doors if the vehicle doesn’t have cell phone reception or the driver can’t contact the service.

The Envista’s LED headlights produce a whiter, brighter light (up to 3x) using five times less power than the Renegade’s standard halogen headlights. LED lights also light instantly and last over twenty times longer than halogen.

The Envista has a standard automatic headlight on/off feature. When the ignition is on, the headlights automatically turn on at dusk and off after dawn. The Renegade only offers an automatic headlight on/off feature as an extra cost option.

The Envista Avenir’s standard rear view mirror and optional side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Renegade offers an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

The Envista Avenir has a standard center folding armrest for the rear passengers. A center armrest helps make rear passengers more comfortable and it can provide a boundary between children. The Renegade doesn’t offer a rear seat center armrest.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Buick Envista offers an optional wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. The Renegade doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.
