The S4’s 3.0 turbo V6 produces 103 more horsepower (349 vs. 246) and 100 lbs.-ft. more torque (369 vs. 269) than the XF P250’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder. The S4’s 3.0 turbo V6 produces 53 more horsepower (349 vs. 296) and 74 lbs.-ft. more torque (369 vs. 295) than the XF P300’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Audi S4 uses regular unleaded gasoline (premium recommended for maximum performance). The XF requires premium, which can cost on average about 82.8 cents more per gallon.

The S4 will cost the buyer less in the long run because of its superior resale value. The IntelliChoice estimates that the S4 will retain 47.61% to 47.65% of its original price after five years, while the XF only retains 32.78% to 33.1%.
