The Vantage has a standard Birds-eye Camera to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The RC F only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the Vantage and the RC F have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and blind spot warning systems.

The Vantage comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The RC F’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The Vantage’s corrosion warranty is 4 years longer than the RC F’s (10 vs. 6 years).

The Vantage’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 produces 31 more horsepower (503 vs. 472) and 110 lbs.-ft. more torque (505 vs. 395) than the RC F’s 5.0 DOHC V8. The Vantage F1’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 produces 55 more horsepower (527 vs. 472) and 110 lbs.-ft. more torque (505 vs. 395) than the RC F’s 5.0 DOHC V8. The Vantage’s optional 5.2 turbo V12 produces 218 more horsepower (690 vs. 472) and 147 lbs.-ft. more torque (542 vs. 395) than the RC F’s 5.0 DOHC V8.

As tested in Car and Driver the Aston Martin Vantage turbo V8 is faster than the Lexus RC F:

On the EPA test cycle the Vantage V8 gets better fuel mileage than the RC F (18 city/24 hwy vs. 16 city/24 hwy).

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Vantage V12’s fuel efficiency. The RC F doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the Vantage’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The RC F doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

The Vantage has 1.9 gallons more fuel capacity than the RC F (19.3 vs. 17.4 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better traction, the Vantage has larger tires than the RC F (F:255/40R20 & R:295/35R20 vs. F:235/35R19 & R:275/35R19).

The Vantage F1/V12’s 295/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the RC F’s 35 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Vantage has standard 20-inch wheels. Only 19-inch wheels are available on the RC F. The Vantage F1/V12 has standard 21-inch wheels.

The Vantage has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The RC F doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Vantage is 4.4 inches wider in the front and 3.4 inches wider in the rear than on the RC F.

The Vantage’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (50% to 50%) than the RC F’s (55% to 45%). This gives the Vantage more stable handling and braking.

The Vantage F1 Coupe handles at 1.00 G’s, while the RC F pulls only .95 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Vantage Coupe executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the RC F (24 seconds @ .83 average G’s vs. 24.9 seconds @ .8 average G’s).

The Aston Martin Vantage may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 300 pounds less than the Lexus RC F.

The Vantage is 9.6 inches shorter than the RC F, making the Vantage easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Vantage Coupe has a much larger trunk than the RC F (12.2 vs. 9.9 cubic feet).

The Vantage’s standard easy entry system raises the steering wheel and glides the driver’s seat back, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. An easy entry system costs extra on the RC F, and is not available on all models.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Vantage to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The RC F doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

The Vantage’s Auto Parking can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The RC F doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

The Aston Martin Vantage comes in coupe and convertible bodystyles; the Lexus RC F isn’t available as a convertible.
