When descending a steep, off-road slope, the DBX’s standard Hill Descent Control allows you to creep down safely. The Model X doesn’t offer Hill Descent Control.

The DBX has a standard Birds-eye Camera to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The Model X only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the DBX’s standard Rear Cross Traffic Warning uses sensors in the rear to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side and automatically engage the brakes. The Model X doesn’t offer a rear cross-path warning system.

Both the DBX and the Model X have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems and rearview cameras.

The DBX comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Model X’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

For better stopping power the DBX’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Model X:

The DBX 707 has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Model X doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The DBX stops much shorter than the Model X:

For better traction, the DBX has larger tires than the Model X (F:285/40R22 & R:325/35R22 vs. F:265/45R20 & R:275/45R20). The DBX’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Model X (F:285/40R22 & R:325/35R22 vs. F:265/35R22 & R:285/35R22).

The DBX’s standard 285/40R22 front and 325/35R22 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series front and 35 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Model X’s standard 45 series tires. The DBX’s optional 325/30R23 rear tires have a lower 30 series profile than the Model X’s optional 35 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the DBX has standard 22-inch wheels. Smaller 20-inch wheels are standard on the Model X. The DBX’s optional 23-inch wheels are larger than the 22-inch wheels optional on the Model X.

The DBX offers an optional space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the Model X; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

The DBX has active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The Model X doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The DBX offers an available active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Tesla doesn’t offer an active suspension on the Model X.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the DBX’s wheelbase is 3.8 inches longer than on the Model X (120.5 inches vs. 116.7 inches).

The DBX707 handles at .97 G’s, while the Model X pulls only .86 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The DBX executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 2.3 seconds quicker than the Model X (24.4 seconds @ .79 average G’s vs. 26.7 seconds @ .7 average G’s).

For greater off-road capability the DBX has a 1.2 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Model X (9.3 vs. 8.1 inches), allowing the DBX to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Aston Martin DBX may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 250 pounds less than the Tesla Model X.

The DBX has .6 inches more front legroom and 2.2 inches more rear legroom than the Model X.

Flexibility is maximized at the game, campground or a drive-in theatre in the DBX when its optional tailgating rear seats are deployed, allowing people to sit facing out of the liftgate. (Do not use while vehicle is in motion.) The Model X doesn’t offer tailgating seats.

The DBX has a much larger cargo volume than the Model X with its rear seat up (22.5 vs. 15 cubic feet).

The DBX’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The Model X 6-Passenger doesn’t offer folding rear seats.

Pressing a button automatically lowers the DBX’s rear seats, to make changing between passengers and cargo easier. The Model X doesn’t offer automatic folding seats.

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the DBX’s available liftgate can be opened and closed just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The Model X doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its liftgate, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

The DBX’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Model X’s (5940 vs. 5000 pounds).

While the Model X w/22” wheels can only tow 3500, any DBX can tow a minimum of 5940 pounds.

The DBX’s entire steering wheel hub sounds the horn, facilitating hitting the horn in an emergency. The Model X has a small, single button on the steering wheel spoke that can be hard to find quickly in an emergency.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Model X, the DBX has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The DBX’s power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The Model X’s cruise control switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

The DBX’s standard side window demisters help clear frost or condensation from the side windows in the winter. The Model X doesn’t even offer side window demisters, so the driver may have to wipe the windows from the outside to gain side vision.

To better shield the driver and front passenger’s vision, the DBX has standard dual-element sun visors that can block glare from two directions simultaneously. The Model X doesn’t offer secondary sun visors.

The DBX’s sun-visors swivel front-to-side to block glare from the side windows. The Model X’s visors are fixed into the windshield header.

Optional air conditioned front and rear seats keep the DBX’s passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The Model X doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats for the second row.

The DBX has a standard center folding armrest for the rear passengers. A center armrest helps make rear passengers more comfortable and it can provide a boundary between children. The Model X doesn’t offer a middle row seat center armrest.
