The 911 offers all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The LC doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

A passive infrared night vision system optional on the 911 helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The LC doesn’t offer a night vision system.

The 911 offers an optional Surround View to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The LC only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the 911 and the LC have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems and blind spot warning systems.

The 911’s corrosion warranty is 6 years longer than the LC’s (12 vs. 6 years).

The flat cylinder configuration of the boxer engine in the 911 lowers its center of gravity, enhancing handling stability. The LC doesn’t offer a boxer engine configuration.

Regardless of its engine, the 911’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. Lexus only offers an automatic engine start/stop system on the LC Hybrid, and doesn’t offer a disable button.

The 911’s optional fuel tank has 1.5 gallons more fuel capacity than the LC Hybrid’s standard fuel tank (23.7 vs. 22.2 gallons).

The 911 offers a manual transmission for better acceleration, control and fuel economy. The LC doesn’t offer a manual transmission.

The 911 offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The LC doesn’t offer an SMG.

All wheel drive, available in the 911, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Lexus LC is not available with all wheel drive.

The 911’s optional launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The LC doesn’t offer launch control.

For better stopping power the 911 Turbo S/Sport Classic’s front brake rotors are larger than those on the LC:

The 911 offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The LC doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

For better traction, the 911 Turbo S/GT3/Sport Classic’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the LC (F:255/35R20 & R:315/30R21 vs. F:245/45R20 & R:275/40R20).

The 911’s optional 245/35R20 front and 305/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the LC’s optional 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

The 911 (except Base/GT3) offers active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The LC doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The 911 GT3 handles at 1.15 G’s, while the LC 500h pulls only .88 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The 911 GT3 executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 3.8 seconds quicker than the LC 500h (22.3 seconds @ .95 average G’s vs. 26.1 seconds @ .69 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the 911 GT3’s turning circle is .7 feet tighter than the LC Active Rear Steering’s (34.1 feet vs. 34.8 feet).

The Porsche 911 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 750 to 1200 pounds less than the Lexus LC.

The 911 is 9.5 inches shorter than the LC, making the 911 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

To almost totally eliminate engine vibration in the passenger area, the 911 Manual (except PDK) has an electronically controlled liquid-filled front engine mount. A computer-controlled electric current in the liquid changes its viscosity, allowing the mount to dampen the engine completely at all RPMs. The LC uses conventional solid rubber engine mounts.

The design of the Porsche 911 amounts to more than styling. The 911 offers aerodynamic coefficients of drag from .31 to .33 Cd (depending on bodystyle and options). That is lower than the LC (.33 to .34). A more efficient exterior helps the 911 go faster and keeps the interior quieter. It also helps the 911 get better fuel mileage.

The front grille of the 911 uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The LC doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The 911 Coupe has .7 inches more front headroom, .2 inches more front legroom and .3 inches more rear headroom than the LC.

The 911 Cabriolet has a much larger trunk with its top down than the LC Convertible (4.6 vs. 3.4 cubic feet).

The 911’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The LC doesn’t offer folding rear seats.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the 911 (except Cabriolet/GT3) offers an optional rear wiper. The LC doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The LC’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The 911’s optional adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

When the 911 is put in reverse, the passenger rearview mirror tilts from its original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirror into its original position. The LC’s mirror doesn’t automatically adjust for backing.

The 911 (except Manual/GT3)’s optional Active Parking Support can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote ParkAssist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The LC doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

The 911 will cost the buyer less in the long run because of its superior resale value. The IntelliChoice estimates that the 911 will retain 56.25% to 60.11% of its original price after five years, while the LC only retains 46.02% to 48.14%.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the 911 first among premium sporty cars in owner reported satisfaction. This includes how well the vehicle performs and satisfies its owner’s expectations. The LC isn’t in the top three in its category.

The Porsche 911 outsold the Lexus LC by over five to one during 2022.
