For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Porsche Cayenne are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Vinfast VF 9 doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the Cayenne’s standard Porsche Hill Control allows you to creep down safely. The VF 9 doesn’t offer Porsche Hill Control.

A passive infrared night vision system optional on the Cayenne helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The VF 9 doesn’t offer a night vision system.

Both the Cayenne and the VF 9 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, post-collision automatic braking systems, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems and around view monitors.

The Cayenne S’ standard 2.9 turbo V6 produces 32 more horsepower (434 vs. 402) than the VF 9’s electric motors. The Cayenne GTS’ standard 4.0 turbo V8 produces 51 more horsepower (453 vs. 402) than the VF 9’s electric motors. The Cayenne E-Hybrid’s standard 3.0 turbo V6 hybrid produces 53 more horsepower (455 vs. 402) and 59 lbs.-ft. more torque (516 vs. 457) than the VF 9’s electric motors. The Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 268 more horsepower (670 vs. 402) and 206 lbs.-ft. more torque (663 vs. 457) than the VF 9’s electric motors.

The Cayenne has a standard locking fuel door with a remote release located convenient to the driver A locking charge port is an option at extra cost on the VF 9. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank.

The Cayenne’s optional launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The VF 9 doesn’t offer launch control.

For better stopping power the Cayenne CCB’s brake rotors are larger than those on the VF 9:

The Cayenne offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The VF 9 doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The Cayenne Turbo has standard air brakes, which adjust the spoiler automatically during high-speed braking in order to shorten stopping distances. The VF 9 doesn’t offer air brakes.

The Cayenne’s optional 315/30R22 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the VF 9’s optional 35 series tires.

The Cayenne has a standard space-saver spare (not available on E-Hybrid) so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the VF 9; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

The Cayenne offers active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The VF 9 doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The Cayenne offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Vinfast doesn’t offer an active suspension on the VF 9.

The Cayenne offers an optional driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The VF 9’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The Cayenne has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Cayenne’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The VF 9 doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For greater off-road capability the Cayenne has a greater minimum ground clearance than the VF 9 (8.2 vs. 7.8 inches), allowing the Cayenne to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Cayenne Air Suspension’s minimum ground clearance is 1.8 inches higher than on the VF 9 (9.6 vs. 7.8 inches).

The Porsche Cayenne may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 650 to 1650 pounds less than the Vinfast VF 9.

The Cayenne is 7.8 inches shorter than the VF 9, making the Cayenne easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The front grille of the Cayenne uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The VF 9 doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

Standard trailer sway control on the Cayenne uses the Porsche Stability Management sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The VF 9 doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

Unlike the driver-only memory seat in the VF 9 Plus, the Cayenne offers an optional driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position, outside mirror angle and climate settings and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Cayenne offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The VF 9 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The VF 9’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The Cayenne’s optional adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

To better shield the driver and front passenger’s vision, the Cayenne has standard dual-element sun visors that can block glare from two directions simultaneously. The VF 9 doesn’t offer secondary sun visors.
