Both the I-Pace and VF 8 have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The I-Pace has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The VF 8’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

Both the I-Pace and VF 8 have rear cross-traffic warning, but the I-Pace has Rear Traffic Braking (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The VF 8’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the I-Pace and the VF 8 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The I-Pace’s electric motors produces 46 more horsepower (394 vs. 348) and 143 lbs.-ft. more torque (512 vs. 369) than the VF 8 Eco’s standard electric motors. The I-Pace’s electric motors produces 55 lbs.-ft. more torque (512 vs. 457) than the VF 8 Plus’ standard electric motors.

For better traction, the I-Pace has larger standard tires than the VF 8 (245/50R20 vs. 225/55R19). The I-Pace’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the VF 8 (255/40R22 vs. 245/45R20).

The I-Pace’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 50 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the VF 8 Eco’s standard 55 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the I-Pace has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the VF 8 Eco. The I-Pace’s optional 22-inch wheels are larger than the 21-inch wheels optional on the VF 8 Plus.

The I-Pace offers an optional space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the VF 8; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

For superior ride and handling, the Jaguar I-Pace has fully independent front and rear suspensions. An independent suspension allows the wheels to follow the road at the best angle for gripping the pavement, without compromising ride comfort. The Vinfast VF 8 has a rear torsion beam axle, with a semi-independent rear suspension.

The front and rear suspension of the I-Pace uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the VF 8, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The I-Pace offers an optional driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The VF 8’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The I-Pace has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The I-Pace’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The VF 8 doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the I-Pace’s wheelbase is 1.6 inches longer than on the VF 8 (117.7 inches vs. 116.1 inches).

For greater off-road capability the I-Pace has a greater minimum ground clearance than the VF 8 (6.5 vs. 5.6 inches), allowing the I-Pace to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Jaguar I-Pace may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1050 to 1150 pounds less than the Vinfast VF 8.

For excellent aerodynamics, the I-Pace has standard flush composite headlights. The VF 8 has recessed headlights that spoil its aerodynamic shape and create extra drag.

The front grille of the I-Pace uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The VF 8 doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the I-Pace to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The VF 8 doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The I-Pace offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The VF 8 doesn’t offer headlight washers.
