For enhanced safety, the front and rear seat shoulder belts of the Jaguar E-Pace have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers. The Maserati Grecale doesn’t offer pretensioners for its rear seat belts.

Using vehicle speed sensors and seat sensors, smart airbags in the E-Pace deploy with different levels of force to help better protect passengers of all sizes in different collisions. The E-Pace’s side airbags will shut off if a child is leaning against the door. The Grecale’s side airbags don’t have smart features and will always deploy full force.

The E-Pace’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the Grecale.

The E-Pace has a standard blind spot warning system that uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them and moves the vehicle back into its lane. A system to reveal vehicles in the Grecale’s blind spot costs extra.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the E-Pace has standard Rear Traffic Warning and Rear Traffic Braking automatically engages the brakes to help avoid a collision. Maserati charges extra for Rear Cross Path on the Grecale and the Grecale’s Rear Cross Path does not include automatic braking.

Both the E-Pace and the Grecale have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, rearview cameras and available around view monitors.

The E-Pace comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Grecale’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 10,000 miles sooner.

The E-Pace’s corrosion warranty is 2 years and unlimited miles longer than the Grecale’s (6/unlimited vs. 4/50,000).

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the E-Pace for 5 years and 60,000 miles. Jaguar will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Maserati doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Grecale.

There are over 63 percent more Jaguar dealers than there are Maserati dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the E-Pace’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2022 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Jaguar vehicles are better in initial quality than Maserati vehicles. With 45 fewer problems per 100 vehicles, JD Power ranks Jaguar higher than Maserati.

On the EPA test cycle the E-Pace P250 gets better fuel mileage than the Grecale Trofeo 3.0 turbo V6 (20 city/26 hwy vs. 18 city/25 hwy).

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Jaguar E-Pace higher (7 out of 10) than the Maserati Grecale (5). This means the E-Pace produces up to 8 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Grecale every 15,000 miles.

A nine-speed automatic is standard on the Jaguar E-Pace, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the Grecale.

The E-Pace has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the Grecale; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

For better maneuverability, the E-Pace’s turning circle is 2.7 feet tighter than the Grecale’s (38.1 feet vs. 40.8 feet).

For greater off-road capability the E-Pace has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Grecale Trofeo (8 vs. 7.9 inches), allowing the E-Pace to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Jaguar E-Pace may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 400 to 550 pounds less than the Maserati Grecale.

The E-Pace is 1 foot, 5.8 inches shorter than the Grecale, making the E-Pace easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The E-Pace has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Grecale (22.4 vs. 18.9 cubic feet).

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Jaguar E-Pace has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the Grecale.
